Happy Friday Kipling Families,

The creative, musical, and imaginative energy of our students were on full display this week. The Band and Orchestra concert and the K-2 Art Show were both opportunities for our students to shine. The energy our building has when parents, grandparents, cousins, and all kinds of family and friends are here to recognize and celebrate our students is so contagious. Thank you to everyone who came to support our students and our school. Your partnership is invaluable to what we do each day. Thank you to Mr. Schwartz, Ms. Yik, and Ms. Foran for your incredible guidance and leadership of our young musicians and artists.

As another reminder for pick-up and drop-off procedures, please see the expectations below:

-No blocking driveways

-Reduction in speed

-Staying off cell phones

-Awareness for surroundings (kids/parents/staff crossing, etc.)

-Having patience

-Pulling ALL THE WAY FORWARD when you pull up by the school

-Stay in your car if you are in the carlline

Thank you for your attention to this matter and your continued collaboration. All my best to you and your families over the weekend!

Respectfully,

Dr. Matthew O. Lombardo

Instrumental Music

Thank you so much to those who were in attendance at this week’s instrumental music open house. We loved the opportunity to meet with you to share information about our program and to feature our high school alumni performing on the instruments available for your child to select from this spring.

If you were unable to attend last evening, our instrumental music program website has now been updated to include our slide deck from the presentation. We hope this resource will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of our program!

Finally, we're excited to share that our instrument fitting signups are LIVE! Please take a moment to secure a 15 minute time slot for your child at next week's instrument fittings using this link for Kipling and Walden families and this link for South Park and Wilmot families These will take place at Caruso Middle School from Tuesday, May 20th through Thursday, May 22nd and we hope to see you there.

If you have any questions, please direct them to eim@dps109.org and we will be happy to help!
