The K12 Zone Report
April 16th

NEW ADDITIONS TO THE K12 ZONE!
🕹️ Game of the Day: Every Day’s a New Adventure!
This month, we’ve been on a mission to level up the fun — and we’re just getting started. Every single weekday in April, we’ve dropped a new game into the K12 Zone’s National Gaming Area.
So far, students have discovered Falling Cubes, Mini Golf, Knight Dash, Word Search, and Mildly Infuriated Birds — with more surprises on the way!
Check back daily to see what’s new and encourage your students to explore the Game of the Day in the National Zones.
🏁 Spring Quiz Race: Add Some Fun to Test Prep!
Looking for a creative way to help your students review before state testing? The optional Spring Quiz Race POC Activity is now live!
💡 Add it to your class zone using the Scene Library — it's a fun, fast-paced review game that challenges students to answer questions and race their avatars to the finish line.
Let’s make prep a little more playful this spring! 🌸
📌 Introducing: The New Bulletin Board
Think of it like the Gratitude Garden or Friendship Garden, but fully customizable for your class content! The Bulletin Board allows you to:
✅ Ask any question you'd like
✅ Collect student responses
✅ Approve and display them on a virtual board
👩🏫 Why It's Great for Teaching:
It’s a powerful way to build community, check for understanding, and spark creativity in your zone. Here are a few ideas:
-
ELA: What would your main character say in a message to the class?
-
Science: What’s one thing you learned during our unit on ecosystems?
-
Math: Post your favorite math joke or tip
-
Social Studies: What historical figure would you want to interview, and why?
-
Advisory: What makes someone a great friend or classmate?

🔮 WHAT’S COMING?
Create Your Own Classroom Zone – Coming Soon!
We’re excited to announce a powerful new feature rolling out at the end of April: staff and teachers will soon be able to create their own zones with the click of a button — no request or wait time needed!
Using the new “Create World” option (available in any zone or from your dashboard), staff will be able to:
-
Choose from a variety of templates
-
Add custom world details (like a name and URL)
-
Select which student or staff groups can access it using Managed User Groups
While it’s not live just yet, this feature is right around the corner — and we want everyone to feel ready to hit the ground running!
If you’re interested in creating your own classroom zone, now’s the perfect time to start learning the ropes. Attend one of the K12 Zone Design Trainings listed below to gain hands-on experience or check out the K12 Zone Editing Smore (linked below) for tips, walkthroughs, and tools to get started.
🎯 Once you’ve got your world, you’ll have all summer to experiment, explore, and make it your own. Let’s get creative!

✅ Every K12 student knows the Zone is a place to connect, make friends, and build community.
✅ Every teacher and student experiences the K12 Zone—exploring its features and possibilities.
✅ Teachers and students are engaging in the Zone for at least 30 minutes a week, making it a fun and valuable part of learning.
We’re excited to continue growing the K12 Zone together! THANK YOU for helping make it a place where students connect, learn, and thrive. 🚀
