SAVE THE DATE! Supply Drop-Off: Wednesday 9/2
We're excited to welcome all of our Akron Elementary families to our Supply Drop-Off Day! This event will take place on Wednesday, September 2, from 3:30–5:30 p.m. in the Elementary School.
This is a great opportunity for students to drop off their school supplies, organize any additional items, and become familiar with the building by locating their classroom before the first day of school. We look forward to seeing everyone and helping kick off another wonderful school year!

🩹 A Message from the Boo Boo Crew!
The first day of school will be here before you know it!
To help your child get off to a healthy start, please be sure their required immunizations are up to date.
New York State requires all students to meet school immunization requirements within 14 days of the first day of school. Students who are not in compliance may be excluded from school until the required immunization documentation is received.
Now is the perfect time to schedule any needed appointments with your child's healthcare provider so you're ready for the new school year!
To view the current New York State school immunization requirements, visit:

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the Health Office. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for a safe, healthy, and fun school year!

🐯 Welcome Back, Tigers! 🧡🖤
Welcome Back to School!
For some families, this is your kiddo’s first year of school. For others, it may be your kiddo’s final year at Akron Elementary. No matter what year of school your child is starting, it is important to establish safe, healthy routines that help everyone have a successful start to the school year.
Be your child’s biggest advocate and know how and where to find additional support when needed. Establishing routines at home can help the entire family adjust to school schedules, whether your child walks, rides the bus, is dropped off or picked up, or stays after school for extracurricular activities.
🚦 Important Safety Reminders
- 🚶 Watch for pedestrians. Please be especially alert for the increased number of students walking to and from school.
- 🚌 Stop for school buses. Stop in all directions when a school bus has its red flashing lights activated. Never pass a school bus with red flashing lights.
- 🚗 Slow down in school zones. Akron’s school zone speed limit is 15 MPH from 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. on school days.
- 🚸 Follow crossing guards. Stop for crossing guards in the crosswalk and do not proceed until they are completely clear of the crosswalk or direct you to safely proceed.
- 🔄 Be aware of our new traffic pattern. There will be a new traffic pattern for Elementary and Middle School drop-off and pick-up. Please refer to the map that was previously sent home to ensure the new procedures are followed properly. If you have questions, please reach out to us!
- The Elementary entrance will remain exit-only.
- The Athletic entrance will now be a two-way roadway.
🐯 Have an AMAZING School Year, Tigers!
Thank you for helping us make the start of the school year safe, smooth, and successful for everyone!
