PK BLUES NEWS
November 2026
ADMIN MESSAGE
Hello Paul Kane Families,
The snow has fallen and November has almost arrived! Students and staff wrapped up the month with Halloween festivities and activities leading into our last weekend of October.
We are beginning the first week of November by shifting our focus to our Remembrance Day ceremony being held on November 6th. We also acknowledge Indigenous Veterans Day held on November 8th. First Nations, Inuit and Métis people in Canada have a long and proud tradition of military service to our country. We honour all of these brave men and women, past and present.
Please note, there is no school on Monday, November 9th, Tuesday, November 10th, or Wednesday, November 11th due to our fall break.
Your Paul Kane Administration
Mr. Kris Horb, Ms. Colleen Anderson, Mme Catherine Lajoie and Mr. Erin Steele
Remembrance Day Ceremony
On November 6th, 10:25am - 11:25 am, Paul Kane School will recognize and remember those in service and those who served our country.
We will never forget the men and women who gave so much so that we can live in a free and just Canada.
Il ne faut pas oublier. Lest we forget!

Student Services Corner
For the month of October, we have been focused on:
Blues’ Block University/College/Technical Institute informational sessions.
Biweekly grades and attendance checks - if a student is failing a class or attendance is a concern, we meet with them to try to establish a plan to make improvements moving forward. If you, as a parent, have any concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
We offered a CHEERios breakfast morning for all students - so many happy faces to walk into school to a free bowl of CHEERios!
Neutral Ground was here during Blues’ Block on Oct.14 - an opportunity for kids to connect with one another or just hang out doing crafts and fun activities in a “phone free” environment.

Textbooks and Novels
Textbooks are issued according to the barcode number. Therefore, students must return the same books that were issued to them. It is recommended to write your name in the front of the book immediately. Do not leave your textbooks in the classrooms. If another student uses your book and it becomes damaged or lost, the book is still your responsibility.
Students will be charged for replacement costs if a book is rendered unusable or lost. Damages, missing covers, water damage and intentional misuse will result in a fine or cost of replacement.
Replacement fees for all textbooks/novels not returned on time (last day of your exam with the scheduled class) will be added to your PowerSchool account.
