Caregiver Update
Welcome Back!
A Big Thank You to Imperial Cars for donating school supplies for our students!
Dear Clough Families,
We had a great start to the school year last week for our K through 4th graders. And then today we welcomed our littlest learners, our preschoolers, for their first day. Thank you parents and guardians for helping us have a smooth start to the year. Also, thank you all for filling out the Clough School Form. We almost have 100%! There are about 5 people who have not completed it yet, so we will be reaching out to you if you haven't completed it yet.
Some students might have come home on Thursday and told you that I fell at dismissal. Thankfully, it happened after most of the buses had left, but some students saw me get hurt and some people saw an ambulance come to the school. I was taken to the hospital, but thankfully no broken bones. Just a lot of bruises and a bruised ego. I wanted to let people know that I am ok, just might be a little slow moving when you see me.
As we get back into the swing of things, I want to remind parents and guardians to please make sure and park in the parking lot or in the field across the street when dropping off or picking up. There's a lot of traffic coming and going, and we want to make sure people are focused on safety while on school grounds. Thank you for staying alert and being aware of your surroundings when driving and parking.
I am excited to share that our awesome Clough PTO will be purchasing t-shirts for all students and staff this year. These shirts will be color-coded by grade. Students will be able to wear them on spirit days, field trips, field day, and whenever they want! Plus, students are going to be voting on the design for the shirts. Please complete this short form so we can collect sizing information and so students can decide on the final design for the shirt. PTO is hoping to gather this info and order the shirts so they are available to distribute in October.
I hope you will join us for our first PTO meeting tonight at 6:30pm in the library. If you can't join in person, I shared the Zoom link earlier so you can join us virtually. Hope to see everyone this Friday night at our Welcome Back Picnic! We will have DJ Mike entertaining us, as well as 3 KIngs BBQ and Citrus Got Real food trucks. Or feel free to grab a pizza from Hideaway Pizza and bring a picnic dinner to the event. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and spread out on the back field. We will be celebrating and welcoming everyone back to school from 5:00-7:00pm.
See you Friday!
Thanks,
Liz Garden
Principal
First Session of Enrichment!
Welcome back!
Enrichment is starting soon. The first session will begin on 9/28. We have a lot of amazing classes being offered this year. Please take a look at our class description here. Once you and your child decide on the classes they would like to attend please fill out this form. Please add all the classes for your student on one form per child.
Payments need to be sent the next day to ensure your child's spot in the class. If you pay online please send a copy of the receipt to me. If a class says full please don't pick that class on the form. You can reach out and I'll put your child on a waiting list.
Any questions please let me know.
Stay Healthy,
Tara Bellefontaine MHS, BSN, RN
Again this year, across the district, we’re asking parents and guardians to help us with a special activity called “A Million Words or Less.” We invite you to tell us, in any length you choose, what makes your child special. You know their joys, challenges, quirks, interests, hopes, and what helps them feel safe and confident. Your insight helps us support them in the best way possible. We had several parents and guardians complete this last year, including many who did it during kindergarten screening. If you already shared information, you don't need to share again. But if you have not completed this, please take some time to help us get to know your child.
You can share in whatever style works for you—a few sentences, a list of bullet points, a poem, a note, even a song! The goal is simply for us to hear your voice.
We’ve created a form where you can type your thoughts. But we know writing isn’t the easiest or preferred way for everyone. You’re welcome to upload a photo, a short video, voice recording, or a document instead—whatever helps us get to know your child. If you would prefer to hand write your thoughts, you are welcome to do that as well and send in the information to us, that works as well.
Host Family Needed!
Each year the district has a Spanish Language and Cultural Assistant sent to the district from Spain. Some years, we share this position with other schools in the district. This year, the assistant will be full time at Clough. This is such a great resource for us to have for our Spanish Immersion classes. Hoping one of our Clough families will consider hosting this person! You don't have to have a student in Spanish Immersion to host.
