Dear River Mill Families,

Happy Spring Break! We hope you enjoy this time with your students and at home this week! Before we head into the break, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible job our 5th grade students did during our annual Sports Challenge event! Their teamwork, camaraderie, and displays of positivity and sportsmanship were truly inspiring. We are so proud of them! (Pictures coming soon!). This event is such a success thanks to Mr. Frank’s leadership, dedication, and organization. A huge thank you to him for all the hard work he puts in each year to make this event happen—and for making this one the best yet! We also want to give a big shoutout to all the coaches for their time, effort, and for being such positive role models for our students, as well as to everyone who helped judge or worked behind the scenes. This is yet another great example of what makes River Mill the best place to be!

At River Mill, we want to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn and grow each day. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in tardies and early pick-ups, and we want to remind families how important it is for students to be at school on time and stay for the full day. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction, while leaving early means they may not get the full benefit of their learning time. Every minute in the classroom matters! We understand that occasional appointments and emergencies happen, but whenever possible, please schedule these outside of school hours. Thank you for your support in making sure your child gets the most out of their school day!

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Did you know that many of our youngest students miss about 10% of the school year—around 14 days, or just two days a month? This level of chronic absenteeism in elementary school can predict lower test scores and challenges with retention in later grades. Every day and every minute of school matters, contributing to your child's growth and success! Please help us support your child's learning by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Thank you for partnering with us to build strong habits for lifelong learning!
