Happy Wednesday Cherrydale Families,

February is right around the corner, and we have some exciting (and restful!) things coming up. Semester report cards will be available in Skyward during the week of February 2nd. Please refer back to the January 21st newsletter for important information about semester report cards and standards-based grading.

On February 6th, we’ll celebrate the 100th Day of School—a fun milestone for our students! That evening is also our PTA Movie Night. Doors will open at 5:00pm with the movie beginning at 5:30pm in our Multi-Purpose Room. Students are currently voting on the movie, and the winning selection will be announced soon, so stay tuned.

Finally, a reminder that there will be no school on February 13th and February 16th. We hope your family enjoys the four-day weekend!

2/13 & 2/16 - No School

Our 3rd grade students are stepping into leadership roles as Morning Announcement Speakers! Students may choose to volunteer for this special opportunity, allowing them to take pride in serving our school community. Each morning, students help start the day by leading the Pledge of Allegiance, reciting the Peace Building Pledge, and sharing other important announcements. Working alongside our school counselor, Ms. Olson, students build confidence, public speaking skills, and a strong sense of community. We love seeing our 3rd graders shine as they help create a positive and welcoming start to each school day!

To help ensure a smooth and safe dismissal for all students, please communicate any dismissal changes to the office by 2:35 PM and on Wednesdays, when dismissal is at 2:35 PM, all changes should be shared by 1:35 PM.

These timelines help our team carefully coordinate end-of-day procedures for all students. While we do our very best to accommodate families, we may not be able to guarantee dismissal changes after these times, as the end of the day is especially busy.

Please help us keep dismissal running smoothly by ensuring that neighboring driveways and intersections remain clear at all times.

Thank you for your continued partnership, patience, and cooperation in helping keep dismissal calm and safe for everyone. We truly appreciate your support!

Our Lost and Found is filling up with coats, sweatshirts, water bottles, and other personal items. We encourage families to take a few minutes to check for any missing belongings. Labeling items with your child’s name can also help ensure lost items make their way back home.

Thank you for helping us keep our school organized and clutter-free!

The PTA is hosting a Movie Night on February 6th for students and families to enjoy together. This event is not a drop-off—students must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. We look forward to a fun evening of community, snacks, and a great movie!
