February 1, 2026
Message from Mrs. Glassford and Ms. Alton
Happy February! It is hard to believe we are already celebrating the 100th day of school this upcoming Monday, February 2nd. Our scholars have made tremendous growth this semester, and now is the time to stay focused to finish the year strong.
Key Reminders for February:
- Attendance Matters: Please ensure your child is in school, on time, every day. Consistent attendance is critical to their academic success.
- Presidents' Week: School will be closed from February 16 through 20th for the break. We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, February 23rd.
- Safety First: Please remember to follow all parking lot procedures during drop-off and pick-up to keep our community safe.
Let’s keep the momentum going! Thank you for your continued collaboration. Go Falcons!

Love on a Leash
First graders were visited by some fluffy friends for the Great Kindness Challenge Week. Check out these adorable faces! Thank You to Love on a Leash for bringing their pet therapy dogs to our First grade classes. The kids loved seeing them, reading to them, and learning about how they bring joy to people's lives. Love on Leash dogs also visit many places including in Senior Centers, hospitals and Wounded Warriors.
The Great Kindness Challenge
Our students, staff and teachers all participated in the Great Kindness Challenge this past week. Check out the pictures of the amazing Foussat Community coming together with kindness!

Open Enrollment Intradistrict Transfer for 26-27
For those wishing to apply for an intradistrict transfer for the 2026-2027 school year, open enrollment is underway and runs until 3:30 P.M. on February 27, 2026. An intradistrict transfer application is used to request to attend a different school in OUSD other than your school of residence.
If you are currently on an intradistrict transfer and your child will be attending the same school next year, you do not need to reapply. However, students entering 6th and 9th grade, must apply or reapply for an intradistrict transfer if they wish to attend any school other than their school of residence. TK applications will only be accepted if the student has a sibling currently attending the same school of choice.
Applications for Intradistrict Transfer are available to complete electronically (linked here and on the district website). Paper applications are available by request only at the ESS office. All applications are viewed based on priority criteria and school capacity. Applications are not viewed nor are decisions made based on when or in what order the application was received. The same consideration is given to all applications turned in between December 8th 2025 and February 27th 2026.
Applications are available at the Educational Support Services Office at 2080 Mission Avenue.
