Welcome to Dr. McGee & September Plans
We are happy to welcome our new Superintendent, Dr. Robert McGee. He previously shared a welcome letter along with the many challenging decisions that lie ahead regarding the opening of school in the fall of 2020. Be sure to read through his communication carefully so that you are aware of the possibilities of our opening. Dr. McGee also shared the most recent findings from Parent Survey results, and that letter is attached again to my ParentLink email.
A public School Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28th at 7:00 pm in the Maple Point MS Auditorium to review the Health & Safety Plan and opening options for students for September 2020. Please follow the Department of Health COVID-19 Guidelines by maintaining social distancing of 6 feet and wearing a mask if you plan to attend.
Please know that we are doing everything in our power to think through the possibilities and make it a safe and healthy transition back to learning, no matter what plan we move forward with. Everything is being carefully reviewed, and safety will be our priority. I know many of you will have lots of questions along the way. I am confident that as we continue to work together with administration and families that we will find a plan that will be feasible and help us reconnect given the restrictions and safety precautions we will be required to take.
I miss the children's smiling faces and hope to be back to learning in the classrooms soon!
Stay Safe and Healthy,
Dr. Amy Orlando
Principal
Summer Reading Challenge
Each summer, the Neshaminy School District offers a list of book titles for suggested summer reading. Our Literacy Team at Schweitzer, Ms. Maurizi and Miss d'Entremont, worked hard to prepare summer reading activities for your child. We are happy to announce that we are offering a SUMMER READING CHALLENGE linking our Summer Reading list to the eBook app, Sora. The books are available by grade spans: K-2 and 3-4.
Please continue to cultivate a love of reading over the summer months to support your child in their learning. Be sure to post a picture of your child reading to #NeshaminyReads2020!
Please read the attachments in the ParentLink email that outline the many summer reading resources available to you and your family.
