Administrator Announcement from MCI

Dear Caregivers -
As the principal of MCI, I believe in being fully transparent with school events and take the safety of our staffulty and students as my top priority. I am writing to make you aware of a situation reported to me earlier today in which a student brought a knife onto the bus. At no time were any students threatened or injured.
School administration responded and made contact with the student before the student entered the building. Appropriate disciplinary action has been taken in accordance with district policy, including law enforcement contact.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. I want to thank those who promptly reported their concerns so that this situation could be addressed quickly and safely.
Please take a moment to remind your student about the importance of making positive choices and reporting any unsafe behavior to a trusted adult.
