At the Super Qualifier, they won the Motivate Award.

The High School FIRST Robotics Competition team began their season by winning the Gracious Professionalism Award at the Sedalia Regional Competition. They travel to Denver, CO, and Kansas City to compete for a chance to attend World’s for the 16th year in a row. The Impact of Career and Technical Student Organizations at LCTC

Joining a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) provides LCTC students with an opportunity to develop and refine the skills they have acquired in their chosen occupational areas. As members of a CTSO, students take on leadership roles and participate in competitions, workshops, and community service. LCTC offers students opportunities to join the following organizations: SkillsUSA, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).

No matter what Career and Technical Organization LCTC students join, their participation provides an excellent path for them to further develop their technical and leadership skills. They also have opportunities to travel, meet people from all over, and to learn more about opportunities within their chosen career path. It has been an amazing year for LCTC students who participate in CTSOs!

LCTC students are currently in CTSO Competition Season. 20 FBLA students have competed and secured their positions in the FBLA National Qualifier. Two Culinary Students, Madison Stone and Oakley Belk, have advanced through the first round of the FCCLA Regional Contest in the Baking and Pastry Category. And, four students are advancing through the SkillsUSA district contest to compete at the state level: Tessa Adkins, 1st- Auto Refinish; Paxton Yowell, 2nd- Auto Refinish; Corbin Bailey, 2nd- Residential Wiring; and Steven Thompson,1st- 3 Axis Milling. LCTC is proud of the hard work of these students and thankful for community sponsors. With the support of 16 local community sponsors, funding will be provided for student travel and competition expenses.
