Principal's Corner
Hello Ranger Families,
What a wonderful and purposeful start to the fall season! Our students embraced September's Start with Hello Week, focusing on building a welcoming community. It was inspiring to see them reaching out and connecting, particularly through fun activities like "Get to Know You Bingo," which helped students build new friendships and strengthen existing ones. This month, we pivot to an important academic and life skill: Begin with the End in Mind. Our Rangers are now focused on setting clear goals, making smart plans, and understanding how the choices they make today support their future success—a true demonstration of turning dreams into reality. We look forward to celebrating the students who best exhibit this trait as our October Leaders of the Month. Finally, a huge thank you to everyone supporting our Stay in the Game attendance initiative! A wonderful group of our parents, students, and staff had an absolute blast attending a Columbus Crew soccer game, an exciting reward that highlights the importance of being present and engaged. We're looking forward to a great October, filled with goal-setting and continued success!

Synergy in Action!
Mrs. Hyland’s LEAD period class practiced Habit 7: Synergize. Students worked together to complete a fun challenge—building the tallest tower they could using only the supplies found on their desks. Through teamwork and creativity, they discovered how combining ideas and working together leads to greater success!

Student Lighthouse Team
The Intermediate Lighthouse Team has been chosen! Thank you to the nearly 150 students who applied—there were so many fantastic applicants. We are excited to build our school leadership team and create opportunities for all students to develop their leadership skills this year.
The Lighthouse Team has been brainstorming ways to make our building run more effectively, be more welcoming, and provide every student with a chance to lead. We discussed two important ideas: everyone can be a leader, and everyone has genius.
Mr. Keller and Mrs. Smith can’t wait to see the great ideas and positive changes our team will bring to our school community!
Partiot Day
On Patriot Day, the Intermediate welcomed community helpers from across our district, including the Hamilton Township Fire Department, Obetz Police, a school board member, a township trustee, and the mayor. Students recognized and thanked them for their dedication to serving and protecting our community.
Military Connected Families
Are you currently serving in the Military? Are you a Veteran? Hamilton Local Schools is looking to identify our Military connected Families in the District. Please fill out only 1 survey per Family. This form is from the Parent/Guardian perspective. We are looking for immediate family members that CURRENTLY live in your home, or recently have lived in your home (older children), NOT distant relatives or grandparents. Please use the QR to the right or click on the QR to be taken to the survey.
Start with Hello Week
Students participated in Start with Hello Week, a national initiative focused on building kindness, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging. Throughout the week, students engaged in activities that encouraged them to reach out, include others, and strengthen our school community.
Be a ray of sunshine in someone’s day and say “Hey”!
Students wore yellow. Students received nametags and played
“Get to Know You BINGO” during Intervention.
Students dressed to represent their heritage or wear tie dye to represent our diverse mix of cultures!
Students learned how to say “hello” in different languages.
Color the World in KINDNESS Students wore NEON colors and created links to make kindness chains.
The high school Power Rangers and middle school student council joined our Lighthouse team to welcome the intermediate students to school. The three groups then traveled to the elementary and preschool to welcome the younger students. It was a great opportunity to see our district leaders come together for one goal.
Friday - High Five Friday
Students wore jerseys to show off their team spirit and gave a High Five or Fist Bump to their peers to celebrate another successful week of learning and being together.
Girls on the Run
Our team of 4th–6th grade girls has already begun meeting after school to build confidence, set goals, and support one another—all while preparing for a celebratory 5K at the end of the season. The program focuses on leadership, teamwork, and making healthy choices, and our Rangers are off to an amazing start.
We look forward to cheering on our Girls on the Run team as they continue their journey this fall. Stay tuned for more updates and ways to support them as they work toward the big 5K celebration!
Leaders of the Month
September Leaders of the Month
Our September Leader of the Month habit is Be Proactive. Being proactive means taking responsibility for your own actions, choices, and attitude. Instead of reacting to problems or blaming others, proactive leaders focus on what they can control and make positive choices. Students who are proactive show initiative, make good decisions even when no one is watching, and set a great example for others. Teachers will nominate one student from the class that exhibit these leader traits to be a September Leader of the Month.
October Leader of the Month Focus
This month, our Leader of the Month trait is Begin with the End in Mind. Students are learning the importance of setting goals and making a plan to reach them. By thinking ahead and making choices that support their future success, our Rangers are practicing how to turn dreams into reality—one step at a time!
