Fisher Family Update

April 17, 2020

Fisher FamilyUpdateApril 17, 2020
Dear Fisher Families,

I hope you are all doing well and we all really miss being with our students...in person! It has been fun to see all our students in our virtual meetings and the teachers and I are very impressed with how the students are responding to "remote learning". We appreciate all their efforts to complete assignments and participate in class meetings. Most of all, we love to see their smiling faces! The teachers and I wish you all well, especially those of you who have loved ones that are essential workers. We thank you for all you are doing for our families and community. I hope you find time to unplug and enjoy the April vacation week.

Take care,

Brian

What if.....

I know the days can seem long and at times the stress of trying to work from home while also being the teacher is too much. As often as I can, I remind myself that this is a very unique situation, one that may never and hopefully doesn't ever happen again. We should take advantage of all this family time together. One of our teachers shared a post with our staff. You may have seen this, but if you haven't I encourage you to take some time to read it. I find myself rereading this often. It inspires me, makes me hopeful and causes me to pause, take perspective and make the most of this very strange and difficult time. Click HERE to view the post and I hope you find it helpful!

WILL MCDONOUGH WRITING CONTEST

Fisher students in fourth and fifth grade participated in the Will McDonough writing contest last month. This contest is named after Will McDonough who was a legendary Boston Globe sportswriter. Over 1,100 students from across New England participated. Winners and honorable mentions were selected by the Globe Sports Editors. Who better to judge written work than professional editors? Congratulations to three students in Mrs. McDonald's class: Aubrie Ma, Cassie Litz, and Owen Larkin for winning the title of Honorable Mention.
