Brookhaven Goes GOLD!

We are proud to share that Brookhaven Elementary has been recognized as a Gold Implementation School by California PBIS!

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a schoolwide approach that focuses on teaching, modeling, and reinforcing positive behaviors while creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for all students.

This Gold recognition is a reflection of the hard work of our students, staff, and families in making Brookhaven a place where students can learn and grow. We are proud of our continued commitment to helping every student be safe, respectful, and responsible!

Attendance is very important. We want to ensure that your child is successful and does not miss instruction. Please help your child stay on track with learning by having them at school every day on time. However, if your child is sick, please keep them home and call our attendance line.

All absences should be reported to the school office as soon as possible. To report a student's absence calling our attendance line at 714-986-7110, extension 3 or email SPinegar@pylusd.org.

Parent/Student Handbook Parent/Student Handbook

Working together at home and at school is key to helping students be successful. Please review the handbook and school rules/procedures with your student. You can review the handbook using this LINK. Please refer to the Handbook for detailed arrival and dismissal procedures.

Parent/Student Handbook Highlight

Students in grades 4-6 may walk, bike, or scooter to school independently. They must wear a helmet and must walk their bike or scooter once they reach the sidewalk in front of the school. Bike racks are located in front of childcare.

  • Bikes must be a minimum of 18”. NO GAS POWERED bikes/scooters, THREE-WHEELER’s, or ATV’s are allowed to be ridden to school. See graphic below for more information.

  • Students must follow all bicycle safety laws. All bike riders must wear a helmet to and from school.

  • Students must get off and walk their bikes upon entering and leaving school grounds. For safety reasons, bikes may not be ridden on school grounds, sidewalks, walkways, parking lots, playgrounds, etc. It is strongly recommended that students lock their bikes.

  • Students must obey the Crossing Guard’s instructions.

  • The school is not responsible for damaged or stolen bikes.

  • Roller Blades and Heelys or any shoes with wheels are not allowed at school.

  • Students who do not adhere to the bike rules will have their privileges revoked.
