Are You An Ethical Hacker?
This interactive camp is designed to expose students to Ethical hacking, the practice of performing security assessments using the same techniques that hackers use, but with proper approvals and authorization from the organization you’re hacking into. The goal is to use cybercriminals’ tactics, techniques, and strategies to locate potential weaknesses and reinforce an organization’s protection. Ethical hackers are also known as white hat hackers or penetration testers.
They aim to help companies keep their data safe by finding vulnerabilities in their systems and updating the flawed software so no one else can use the same technique to break in again.
Some of the skills that may be taught include knowledge of coding in relevant programming languages, an understanding of computer networks (both wired and wireless), basic hardware knowledge, creative and analytical thinking abilities, database proficiency, and a solid foundation in information security principles.
