PTO Updates
🛼 Skate Party – March 5 | 6:00–8:00 PM
Join us for our PTO Skate Party on Wednesday, March 5th from 6:00–8:00 PM at Fountainblu. This is always a favorite event for our students and families; come enjoy an evening of skating, music, and fun with the Fishing Creek community.
📌 Upcoming PTO Events
We have many great events coming up this spring, including:
- One Book, One School
- Penny/Coin Wars
- Additional community nights
- Spring Fundraiser (kicks off in May)
More details and dates will be shared soon via Seesaw and the PTO website.
📅 PTO Meetings – Now Hybrid
The PTO is now offering hybrid meetings, meaning families can attend in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams. Our goal is to make meetings more accessible and encourage greater participation. A Teams link to join the meeting will be sent the day of the meeting via Seesaw.
PTO Board Positions – Looking Ahead
As we begin planning for next school year, all PTO board positions will need to be filled, and we are in need of volunteers to step into these roles. Without these positions filled, the PTO will not be able to continue and would cease to exist. Serving on the PTO is a great way to get involved and help make events like assemblies, field trips, family nights, and teacher appreciation possible for our students.
More information about board positions, nominations, and elections will be shared in the coming months. We encourage anyone interested to start attending PTO meetings to learn more about how the PTO supports our school.

Car Rider Drop-off Safety Reminder
To help keep our morning arrival safe and efficient for everyone, please remember the following car rider drop-off procedures: Doors open at 8:35 a.m. (Pro tip: arriving a few minutes after opening can help you avoid the longest part of the line.) Please remain in your car and allow your child to exit independently. If you need to get out of the car to assist your child, please park in a designated parking spot and walk them to the drop-off area. Pull all the way forward in the drop-off line so multiple cars can unload at the same time. Doors close promptly at 8:55 a.m. If your child is not inside the building by that time, you will need to walk them to the main entrance and buzz the office. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our students safe each morning!
Shark Folder Reminder
Each evening, please take a few minutes to check your child’s Shark Folder. This is our take-home folder and may include important notes from school, homework, student work, and classroom updates. Reviewing it together helps keep families informed and students organized. Thank you for making this part of your daily routine! 🦈📂
Volunteers Needed - 3rd and 4th Grade Shark Store
We’re looking for volunteers to help with the Shark Store for our 3rd and 4th grade students! The Shark Store is always an exciting time for our kids to celebrate their hard work and positive choices. If you’re available to lend a hand, we’d love to have your support in making this event a success.

Bundle Up for Winter
As the colder weather sets in, we want to remind families to dress their children warmly for the school day. At Fishing Creek Elementary, we aim to give our students the chance to play outside and enjoy fresh air during recess whenever possible. Please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat, hat, gloves, and other cold-weather essentials so they can stay comfortable and safe while enjoying outdoor activities. Thank you for helping us keep our students happy and healthy!
PBIS
Character Focus: Honesty & PBIS Spotlight
This month, our character focus is Honesty! We are teaching students that being honest means telling the truth, taking responsibility for their actions, and doing what’s right—even when it’s hard. Honesty builds trust, strengthens relationships, and helps everyone feel safe and respected at school.
Our PBIS focus continues to be on being Safe, Kind, and Responsible. We are reinforcing that making honest choices includes telling the truth, not taking things that don’t belong to us, and doing our own work during class and on assessments. These responsible actions help students grow in integrity and create a learning environment where everyone can succeed.
Family Discussion Tip: Talk with your child about why honesty is important at home, at school, and in friendships. Ask: What should you do if you make a mistake or see someone else being dishonest? Share a time when you chose honesty, even when it was difficult, and how it made a difference. Remind your child that being honest shows courage and helps build a strong community.
