What Did HSC Fund Last Week? What Did HSC Fund Last Week?

HSC consists of all school families and supports programs with time and money not within school budget limitations.

HSC has been busy supporting our school and staff! Last week, HSC:

  • Made a deposit to reserve Fall Festival inflatables
  • Contributed to support continued school funding
  • Reimbursed teachers for classroom expenses
  • Thank you to 5th grade families for the fabulous yogurt parfait bar they provided to the staff as part of the HSC's Hospitality Program.

Principal's Update Principal's Update

The International Fair was...WOW!

Thank you to all who organized the fair, sponsored a food or sales booth, managed ticket sales, and attended the event. It was a tremendous group effort and a spectacle to behold. What a treasured school community tradition honoring the cultures of students and families. See pictures at the bottom of the newsletter.

Steindorf LCAP Presentation

At last night's District School Board Meeting, I shared the update to Steindorf's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The purpose is to share what has changed since the school's LCAP last spring and why.

Response to Parent/Guardian Satisfaction Survey Comments

Thank you to the families who provided comments on the Parent/Guardian Satisfaction Survey. In response to survey comments, please note the following.

  • Your child's teacher is your main point of contact. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns about your child's academic, social emotional, or behavioral progress in school.
  • Questions about cafeteria food should be addressed to the CSD Food Services Dept.
  • Recess and lunch breaks surpass the amount of time recommended by the CA Dept of Education.
  • Indoor eating options are provided during inclimate weather.
  • Staff aims to reply to emails within 24 hours. If that does not happen, it is not intentional. Please email the staff again.
  • Students are held accountable for inappropriate behavior.
  • School drop off is a work in progress to improve safety and efficiency. School buses are not an option.

Warmly,

Debbie Stein

Congratulations, Siena!

Last night, Siena was honored at the Cambrian School District Board Meeting as Steindorf's Student of the Month. Siena consistently demonstrates initiative, integrity, and thoughtfulness in everything she does. She challenges herself to step outside of her comfort zone and is willing to try new things, even when they may feel uncomfortable. She shows care and respect toward her teachers and classmates, she makes responsible decisions, and she acts as a proactive problem solver who seeks solutions rather than simply asking questions. Her sincerity and positive attitude are valuable assets to our school community.

Volunteer Clearance Requirements go into effect- October 13th

Follow directions on the Cambrian School District website to gain clearance to volunteer within the school district. Volunteer webpage link.

📢CEF Volunteer Support Fund 📢

Open the Door to More Volunteers

Volunteers make our schools stronger. They support classrooms, field trips, student activities, and school programs—and students benefit when parents and community members can be involved. The new volunteer clearance process includes a $77 fingerprinting cost, which can be a barrier for some families.

Help Remove the Barrier

Cambrian Educational Foundation (CEF) has launched the Volunteer Support Fund with an initial $3,000 investment to help provide financial assistance for required fingerprinting.

Your donation can help multiply that impact by helping more parents and community members become cleared volunteers. To direct your donation to this fund, visit www.cambrianef.org/giving Under “Please direct my support to:” select “Volunteer Support Fund” from the dropdown menu.
