Jefferson Jewels

Week of October 19, 2026
Hello JLA parents and caregivers,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's been pretty busy at JLA recently, and this week we are shifting into Halloween celebrations. Student Council is planning for next week's Halloween Festival and will start selling Boo Grams on Friday at lunch.
We are having a picture make-up day on Monday for any student who was absent on our original picture day. Students will take the photos during PE and also receive their ID.
Last week we held our earthquake drill, and you should have received a message from LBUSD about the Ca. Great Shakeout on Thursday. This is a reminder to make sure your contact information is current in ParentVue so that, in an emergency, you receive direct communication from JLA. Keeping your phone numbers and home address current helps us stay in contact with you and support your child.
Thank you for your partnership.
Best regards,
Dr. Renée Shipman

Picking up early- plan ahead
We know there are times when you need to pick up your child early. You can do this before or after their scheduled lunch period. If your child is at lunch, we are not able to release them quickly from the lunch area. Picking up your child before or after lunch will help you leave JLA without delay.
