Crisp Days and Cozy Reads
November brings with it a sense of togetherness, gratitude, and giving. It's a time to slow down, savor the little moments, and appreciate the community around us. As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book, a cozy blanket, and maybe a warm beverage.
This month, we’re sharing a few of our favorite adult reading recommendations to keep you company through the season, along with upcoming library programs and the latest news from around the stacks. We hope you’ll find something that inspires, comforts, or connects you in this cozy time of year.
Foundation Focus
To honor Ann Tussey's lifelong dedication to education and the community, the Danville Library Foundation is leading a campaign to bring an interactive magnetic wall to the children’s activity room. This hands-on feature, including a ball run, will encourage imagination, creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative play. Once complete, children will enjoy the wall during storytimes, programs, and everyday visits, enhancing the space for families!
Join the Conversation
Our youth programs are popular, and we love getting to know the children, teens, and families who attend. Together, we’re promoting literacy, learning, and community, but funding for these programs is taking a hard hit.
Join us for one of our next Community Conversations to learn how libraries are funded, what’s at stake with new legislation, and how the Danville Library Foundation will help keep these programs thriving. Your voice and support can make a real difference.
Join us at the time that works best for your schedule.

October Kid Librarian
October Kid Librarian: Hailey
Meet Hailey P., our October Kid Librarian! Hailey loves sharing her favorite books with others, and her top pick is anything by Cece Belle. She especially enjoys nonfiction and cherishes the adventures her library card opens up.
Hailey is a familiar face at the library, attending programs like our youth book club and visiting often with her twin brother and her mom, who’s also a devoted library fan. When asked if there is a librarian who inspires her, she answered Mrs. Frankie!
When she’s not exploring books, Hailey enjoys Girl Scouts, ballet, and spending time with her family.
We’re thrilled to have her as our Kid Librarian this month!
