PRINCIPAL MESSAGE PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

We have successfully completed our 2nd week of school! We are off to an amazing start as our students are settling into class and school routines, building friendships and showing excitement for all the learning ahead.

Mrs. Valdez and I truly appreciate your support as we transitioned to a ‘Closed Campus’ last Thursday by saying your goodbyes at the gate. The students are doing a fantastic job walking themselves to the cafeteria and into their line on the blacktop. This change helps us ensure students’ safety while also fostering independence as routines are being established.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support—it truly makes a difference. We’re looking forward to an incredible year together, filled with growth, discovery, and success for every student.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your Labor Day holiday!

Mrs. Markarian

RECESS EXPECTATIONS RECESS EXPECTATIONS

Parents, we want to clarify the expectations of having no more then 4 students in a group. The goal and purpose is to ensure students are safe and engaged as smaller groups can be monitored more effectively.

This expectation does not apply when playing an organized activity such as basketball, four square, and soccer etc.

TK GRADE LEVEL NEWS TK GRADE LEVEL NEWS

TK is off to a great start! We are happy to share that we are successfully learning to follow procedures, routines, and classroom rules. We have each implemented a positive behavior system that works best for our class and rewards students for great behavior! We have been focusing on the character trait, “Kindness” and learning how to be a kind friend to others.

In TK we are practicing how to hold a pencil and learning beginning handwriting skills. The students have been dot printing their names, drawing family pictures, making handprints, and learning the first letter of their names.

We are planning to go on our first field trip in October. We will be joining Kindergarten classes to go to the Pumpkin Patch. In the Spring, we will take a study trip to either the Chaffee Zoo or Storyland. This is a great learning experience for the children!

Parents are welcome to volunteer in the classroom following parent-teacher conference week in October.

We are looking forward to an exciting school year!

This year, Tatarian Elementary is starting a school-wide behavior incentive called Personal Responsibility. We believe that creating a positive and respectful school environment helps every child learn and grow. Our school-wide behavior incentive program is designed to encourage and celebrate positive choices, responsibility, and kindness throughout the school day.

The purpose of this program is to:

  • Reinforce positive behaviors that support learning and respect.

  • Build a strong, inclusive school culture where students feel recognized and valued.

  • Help students understand expectations and take pride in making good decisions.

  • Encourage consistency and fairness in how behavior is supported across classrooms and grade levels.

By working together—we create a school where all students feel safe, supported, and motivated to do their best.

Every teacher, will be reviewing Personal Responsibility with your child over the first two weeks of school and throughout the year school. More information will be sent home.
