The News
Our homecoming week activities continued into this week. On Monday morning our girls played in their annual flag football class tournament. The Seniors won a hard fought contest with the Juniors. The competition really came out in the girls on Monday, just like the boys when they played volleyball last week. Things got a little too physical for touch football, trash talk and complaining about officials, and an official protest filed by the Sophomores. I treated the protest like the SEC does is in football- acknowledge the complaint but do nothing!
Our volleyball team celebrated Senior Night on Thursday by beating Hamilton. Seniors Avery Cummings, Ava Hall and Roxana Molina were recognized after the game. (see picture above) They also won a key area match beating Colbert County on Tuesday to solidify second place in area play. The volleyball regular season will end this week and tournament play will begin next week.
Our football team go a key region win over Midfield Friday night beating the Patriots 36-26. The win put our team in position to control their own fate to earn a playoff bid. Our junior high football team continued their unbeaten streak with a win over Red Bay on Monday.
Our cheerleaders hosted yet another successful mini-cheer camp this week. They capped the week off with a performance before the football game on Friday night.
Northwest and UNA visited our Seniors this week and our Seniors took their fist step toward graduation by purchasing their diplomas and cap & gown. May will be here in a flash for these students and parents!
Have A Great Week!
