I can't believe we are heading into May this upcoming week. This school year has gone by extremely fast and it will only get faster. Please review the upcoming events for May as it is jam packed with excitement.

Starting May 5th, we will be celebrating all of our amazing staff members. Students can participate with the activities below, or choose something different. These are just ideas to help celebrate Walker's Amazing Staff!

We implemented these procedures for the safety of both students and community members. Unfortunately, we have witnessed, and been contacted by local residents about some violations.

Please do not :

• use resident driveways
• complete U-turns or 3 point turns
• fail to stop at a stop sign
• fail to stop and remained stopped until the bus has disengaged its stop sign
• double park or park in front of the school or in a bus lane
• Drop students off in front of the school or anywhere on 78th Ave Drivers will be provided with citations.

For the safety of our students ad staff, the school parking lot will be limited to authorized school personnel from the hours of 7:30-8:30 and 2:30-3:15. If you arrive to school late, please park on the street and walk them in. Thank you for your understanding.

All student electronic should be turned off and kept in their locker during the day. If students have a watch that is used for communication, parents should not be communicating with them during the day.

We are running into situations where students are contacted directly about who afterschool pickup procedures. If you have change in your child's afterschool pickup procedure, please contacted the office and all parties will be notified.

Congrats Reem, Peyton, Reetal, and Mia for Perfect Attendance for Trimester 2! These students were at Walker 100% of the time! Great job students!

Walker 2nd-5th Grade Field Trip to Ag Day at the Children's Farm in Palos Park.

For the Month of April, we are focusing on positive interactions between peers. If students continue to have positive interactions, students will in a outdoor station activity.

Students can participate of they have not received any Major referrals or no more than 2 minor referrals for the month of April.

Every other Monday, we celebrate the successes of our students both academically and behaviorally.

We also celebrate those students that are making academic growth in school. Below are the students who received certificates from Lexia.

Hello Walker families,

Due to an outbreak of measles within the US, the SD 104 nursing team would like to take this time to bring to your attention the importance of vaccinations against measles. Although our district is 99% protected, please understand about 90% of people who are not immune to measles (either through vaccination or previous infection) become infected if exposed to the virus. To protect our students and our community, we ask that you take a look at the MMR information attached. Meanwhile, our nursing team continues to work diligently to maintain a healthy learning environment for your student(s).

Health documents for the 25-26 school year are due August 1, 2025!

All incoming kindergarten and 6th graders should begin making their appointments for all health forms due by August 1st.

The Loyola Pediatric Mobile Health Unit returns to SD 104 in September and October. The May visit has been cancelled. See the flyer for the state mandated requirements for each grade level.

Please note all action plans and medication authorization forms are to be updated yearly and are due August 1st.
