Wolfpack Parent Weekly
August 28, 2022
Wolfpack Parents/Guardians,
How are you feeling? Excited? Energized? Optimistic?
Anxious? Stressed? (Already) Overwhelmed?
I like to think of a new school as an INVITATION.
It's an opportunity to start again.
To reach for the stars...
To play BIGGER...
To do something REMARKABLE at our school!
The halls are looking a little lonely right now, but on Monday we welcome back 650'ish students into our building. Get PUMPED! This is what we do and Walkertown does it well!
Sincerely,
Mónica Bruce
Proud Principal of Walkertown Middle School

Free Breakfast/Lunch at WMS and P-EBT Information
WMS is an all free breakfast and lunch school site. NCDHHS is providing an additional opportunity for families who did not already receive a summer P-EBT payment, to be eligible. If you haven’t received a letter indicating eligibility for the Free and Reduced Meal Program for the 2022-2023 school year and you believe you may be eligible for Summer P-EBT benefits, complete a free and reduced application by Wednesday, August 31. If your student is enrolled in a CEP school, a school where lunch is free for everyone, we encourage you to fill out an application if you may be eligible for Summer P-EBT benefits. Free and Reduced applications are available online on the Child Nutrition website and at the Child Nutrition Office.
Bus Stop Info
Parents you can now look on the WS/FCS main webpage for the link to go straight to the Bus Stop Information System and use their student ID to get instant bus stop info. It is under “Headlines” on the district’s main page.
I Love You Guys
Be aware that our emergency response terms are changing this year. You can find informational website on the district main page under Operations, School Security. Your students will also be learning about it from our staff/teachers in coming days.
Also, there is a short video you can watch by clicking here.
Code of Character, Conduct, Support
This new Code of Character, Conduct, and Support is something district teams including administrators, parents, community advocates, and school staff have worked on for over a year. We understand parents are vital partners with the school when your child is facing a challenge or problem. This new Code aims to affirm the rights of students to a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. It also is focused on making sure our schools provide strategies and interventions to promote positive behavior and develop social-emotional skills. It provides clear tools to support our behavior expectations. Parents are a critical piece in helping us nurture the development of student character and conduct. This new Code calls on parents, staff, students, and the community to treat each other with respect as partners in the work of educating children.
