KERR PTA Newsletter Issue 2

The Galaxy Press is the free newsletter for the Kerr Elementary PTA. The newsletter contains articles about ongoing and upcoming PTA events, reminders, and news from our school. Be sure to create an account on our PTA website to ensure you automatically receive the Galaxy Press Newsletter! The Galaxy Press is published on Thursdays, on a bi-weekly schedule (unless there is a holiday). Be sure to scroll all the way through for important information and exciting events!

By simply joining the PTA, you are advocating on behalf of all children (including your own)! No additional time commitment is required! Additionally, every membership purchased provides instant financial support for our students! It's also a great way to stay informed about what's happening at school and connect in meaningful ways with other parents.

Kerr PTA membership is climbing, and we're celebrating with gift card giveaways!

We're currently at 198 members. If we reach 255 by September 15, we'll draw one gift card winner from our membership roster. If we reach 450, we'll draw two more.

Everyone who has already joined is automatically entered — no form, no extra step. If you haven't joined yet, there's still time, and each membership moves us toward both milestones. JOIN KERR PTA TODAY!

Volunteering is truly a work of heart and seeing how much it means to the children and teachers, makes it all worth it. If you would like to find out more information on becoming a volunteer, please submit your interest. We are looking forward to a great school year and are excited to have you help out our Kerr community!

We have MANY volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Be sure to check our website and follow us on social media (Facebook and Instagram) so you don't miss out on anything!

All volunteers must have an approved AISD background check.

Want to get involved and have a little fun while you’re at it? Complete **5 volunteer activities in a row** on your bingo card to be entered into our end-of-year drawing!

You must actually **volunteer** at the event—not just attend. Once you get 5 in a row, email vpvolunteers@kerrcometspta.org with the events you volunteered at so we can verify your participation through SignUpGenius and get you entered!

🎉🎊 Wishing our wonderful Kerr staff and faculty a happy happy birthday!! 🎊🎉

Kerr PTA is looking for community partners who would like to make a positive impact on our students and school community!

Through donations, sponsorships, goods, or services, our community partners help make special events, programs, and memorable experiences possible for our students throughout the school year.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference! Your support allows us to create opportunities that enrich our students’ school experience while strengthening the connection between Kerr Elementary and our wonderful community.

Interested in partnering with Kerr PTA? We would love to hear from you!

Our PTA is made up of hard-working volunteers - both parents & teachers who pool their talents to provide practical support for our school. Those listed below volunteered to provide leadership for the 2026-2027 school year. Get to know their names and faces, and feel free to ask them if you have questions.

Did you know that each grade level has their own Facebook group? Connect with other families in your child's grade! You can share field trip photos, ask questions, and even meet your child's bestie's parents.

Please note: These Facebook groups are run by some wonderful Kerr parents and are not sponsored by PTA. However, we love to foster connection between our Kerr families and hope this helps those that would like to join!
