World Mitochondrial Awareness Week at HTMS
HTMS students joined together this week to support World Mitochondrial Awareness Week by wearing pajamas and green in honor of those affected by mitochondrial disease. Students were able to bring in donations for the opportunity to wear PJs today—and their generosity made a big impact!
We are proud to share that our Huskies raised $1,150 to benefit the Complex Care Unit at Children’s Hospital. This donation will directly support patients and families receiving care while also raising awareness about mitochondrial disease.
Way to go, Huskies, for showing your compassion, school spirit, and community pride!
HTHS Chamber Choir Shines at 53rd Annual Festival of Voices
HTHS Chamber Choir students participated in the 53rd annual Festival of Voices at the University of Montevallo. They joined with students from various other high schools to learn and perform music under the direction of UM Director of Choral Activities Dr. Melinda Doyle. HTHS alumnae Ginny Waid and Sara Buttram performed with the honor choir and the UM Concert Choir.
HTMS and HTHS will present a combined Fall Choral Concert on Monday, September 22, at 6:30. The concert will be held at the HTHS Performing Arts Center and is free to attend.

Pirate Day for Paine Elementary Kindergarteners
Paine kindergartners had a wonderful time celebrating Pirate Day! They spent the day learning through hands-on pirate-themed activities and practicing teamwork as they pretended to sail the seas together. Pirate Day was the perfect blend of fun and learning for our youngest Huskies!
Cahaba Lunchroom Makeover Brings Color and Joy
Cahaba Elementary's school lunchroom has a fresh new look thanks to a vibrant mural painted by our art teacher, Jourdan Barnett, with help from students. The colorful design brightens the space and adds creativity to mealtime.
We are also enjoying having lunch guests join our students, and many have noticed how the cheerful mural makes the lunchroom more inviting and welcoming for everyone. Thank you, Ms. Barnett, for sharing your talents with Cahaba!
Mark your calendars for the HTHS Homecoming Parade

Recognizing these signs of anxiety and implementing strategies to ease their worries can significantly help children adjust to the new school year.
For any questions concerning student mental health, please contact Mrs. Beth Cardwell, TCS Student Support Specialist at (205) 228-3036 or your student's school counselor.
