Martinson
Principal's Corner
The next few days are going to be filled with fun as we discover new worlds and work together to raise $25,000 for field trips and enrichment opportunities at MES! Every student will participate in the fun through a character-building program, event day, and school incentives. Here are a few things you can do to help us reach our goals!
Register your student at MyBooster.com to join the fun. Search for “ Martinson Elementary School.”
Donate and share. We are encouraging every family to share their donation page with 10 people.
Throughout the week, our students will earn fun rewards based on how much is raised on their classroom tracker. When a class earns a reward, this adds some extra awesomeness to their day.
10/23/2025: Event Day. This is our epic celebration day for Martinson Fun Run!
Thank you for your support during this exciting fundraiser!

Nurse's Notes
Update Health Information: Please make sure to update any changes to your child’s health information, including allergies, medications, and emergency contact details. Thank you to all the parents who have already submitted their children’s physicals and immunization records! If you haven’t done so yet, please remember to submit them as soon as possible. Physicals are required for students in Kindergarten and Fourth Grade.
Health Screenings: Schools are required to conduct vision, hearing, and BMI screenings for certain grade levels. These screenings are designed to identify potential concerns that may affect your child’s learning and overall well-being. Screenings will begin at the end of the month (October). Parents/guardians who do not wish their child to participate in one or more of these screenings must send a written request (letter or email) to the school nurse.
Fall Health Reminders:
Wash hands often- helps prevent the spread of colds, flu, and other germs.
Cover coughs & sneezes- use a tissue or elbow, not your hands.
Stay home if sick- Children should be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
Get plenty of rest- 9-12 hours of sleep helps kids focus, learn, and stay healthy.
Eat seasonal fruits and vegetables- apples, squash, and carrots are nutritious fall favorites.
Stay hydrated- even in cooler weather, water is important throughout the day.
Dress in layers- temperatures change quickly in the fall, so layers keep kids comfortable.
When your child has a communicable disease such as strep throat or conjunctivitis that has not been treated for at least 24 hours with antibiotic medication
When your child has had a fever of 100 degrees or greater within the past 24 hours without fever- reducing medication
When your child has been vomiting or has had diarrhea within the past 24 hours
Please contact the nurse with any questions.

Library News
Last week in the library we read "Bonaparte Falls Apart" by Margery Cuyler. This humorous picture book featuring little monsters helped to enrich our discussions of friendship and how to support our friends. PTO News
Parents & Caregivers - We have an exciting week of PTO events and need your help!
The MES PTO has partnered with Boosterthon for our annual fundraising campaign. Star Quest 5 is the character theme of this year's event. The theme incorporates historical space figures and events to teach students how to live with Curiosity, Courage, Teamwork, Resilience and Humility.
The Booserthon fundraiser is the biggest way we raise funds for MES. Items such as the TVs in the cafeteria, a new laminator, field trip buses and so much more are paid for using the money raised during Boosterthon.
