Parents/Guardians wanted for MRHS School Council
We look to build a strong school advisory council this year to guide our important work. A school council is a representative, school building-based committee that meets quarterly and is composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members, and students. School councils are to assist principals in:
- Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
- Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
- Reviewing the annual school building budget
- Formulating a school improvement plan
- Review the student handbook
If you are interested please send an email message to principal Jennifer Police at jpolice@monomoy.edu indicating your interest in serving on the school council.
Side By Side: The Silent Strength of Special Needs Siblings
Thursday, September 18 • 7:00 PM • Film Screening • Q&A • Meet the Filmmaker
An evening honoring the often-overlooked heroes — the siblings of individuals with special needs. Hear real stories, engage in meaningful discussion, and meet filmmaker Nick Rocca and Dylan Whalen, the heart of Team Ty — a moving documentary that captures the challenges and unbreakable bond of brotherhood in the face of autism.
Monomoy's very own Addy and Liam Goley will be on the panel!
Tickets available at https://chathamorpheum.org/upcoming-events. All proceeds benefit The Grateful Mug and Cape Cod Village Center for Developmental Disabilities.
A new way for teachers to communicate with families - ReachMyTeach
We’re excited to introduce ReachMyTeach, our new two-way messaging system for staying connected with your school. This platform will allow classroom teachers, coaches, and club advisors to communicate directly with parents, caregivers, and students in an organized, safe, and accessible way. To learn more about ReachMyTeach and how to access it, visit their site here.
- You don’t have to do anything right now in order to receive messages via ReachMyTeach! Messages will be delivered directly to your email inbox and text platform, in your preferred language.
- This tool allows you to receive and send messages to school staff via email, text, and WhatsApp.
- You can use the messaging tools with your current email/text platforms, in the ReachMyTeach web portal, or you can download the ReachMyTeach app.
- When logging in to the web portal or app, parents and caregivers should use the same email address or phone number they use for Aspen, and students should use their school email.
- One-way messages from the school and district will continue to be sent via our mass notifications system, including our principal’s weekly newsletters, Superintendent’s Updates, and weather/closing alerts.
Please make sure that the school has your current and correct phone and email contact information on file in Aspen. All messages sent through our mass notifications system and ReachMyTeach will be automatically translated into the recipient’s preferred language, as listed in Aspen.
Nominate a staff member for a shoutout!
Our faculty and staff are amazing – and we want them to get recognized for the great work they do! Each month, we will feature a staff member in our Staff Shoutout series. Staff members can be nominated by students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues for outstanding positive contributions to our schools using the simple form at www.monomoy.edu/staffshoutout.

The event organizers are looking for volunteers -- this is a great opportunity for students to get involved. Some of the things volunteers might help with include:
- Signing people up for the pet parade, fashion show, or talent show
- Helping at the raffle table
- Walking around and helping guests with activities
- Assisting with crowd control as we set up different events
- Helping staff with general tasks throughout the day
Volunteers are welcome to come for just an hour or stay all day — whatever works best. Sign up via the online form here!
