Announcing our School Grade

Dear Faculty, Staff and Stakeholders, the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) has just officially released our school grades, and it is my absolute honor to share our incredible news:

Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School has earned a "B" grade!

When I told you that we were going to make history this year, I said it because I knew the caliber of dedication, talent, and love inside this building. Today, you didn't just reach for that vision—you captured it all because you Believe, Build and Bloom, and RISE Up to Achieve.

This marks the first time in the history of our school that we have earned a "B" grade! per the state's records. Looking at the official FLDOE data released today, our journey shows the true power of our collective grit and resilience.

We have broken the mold, rewritten the narrative of our school, and proven what is possible when a community refuses to settle for anything less than excellence.

This "B" belongs to every single one of you. It belongs to the Regional Superintendent, Dr. Long and staff, teachers who poured their hearts into daily instruction, the support staff who lifted our operations, resource teachers, the specialists who sharpened our strategies, volunteers and donors, and everyone who loved and believed in our scholars when the work got heavy. REAL HEAVY. Your late nights, reading my many midnight emails, long BBBs, data monitoring, interventions, and unyielding standard of excellence made this moment a reality. You did it.

Please take a moment to celebrate yourselves and each other.

Here's your action item: Email, text, Insta, X, email and call EVERYone you know. You have earned every bit of this victory!

With the deepest appreciation, admiration, and humility, much love-- Katrina
