Hyatt's March Updates
Hello Hyatt Campers,
Dust off your lanterns and lace up your hiking boots—March Is Reading Month is back, and we’re ready to hit the reading trail! All month long, we’ll be celebrating the joy of books and the importance of building a lifelong love of reading. Just like a great camping trip, reading sparks imagination, builds skills, and brings us together around stories that warm our hearts like a glowing campfire.
Our campground will be buzzing with themed activities, cozy read-alouds, hands-on adventures, and plenty of opportunities for our young campers to explore new literary trails. From pitching a “tent” with a good book to blazing through reading challenges, there’s something for every happy camper. So pack up your curiosity and join us as we celebrate a month full of story-filled adventures—because when it comes to growing strong readers, every page we turn helps light the way! 🔥📚🏕️
Make sure you look over the calendar below and map out this month's adventures. We also hope to catch you at Literacy Night for a fun filled evening of literacy!

Reading Month Ideas!
Are you looking for some ideas to help foster lifelong reading habits? Below are some quick tips you may choose to utilize to support and encourage your child's reading, which we know is tremendously beneficial in all aspects of life!
- Create a "Cozy Reading Zone": Use blankets, pillows, and twinkle lights to make a special, comfortable reading spot.
- Make it Interactive: Pause to ask questions, make predictions, and discuss the story rather than quizzing them.
- Model Behavior: Let your child see you reading your own books.
- Read Anywhere: Read in the car, at the park, or with a flashlight under a blanket.
- Let Them Choose: Encourage interest-driven reading, whether it's comics, magazines, or graphic novels.
- Use the Five-Finger Rule: If a child misses five or more words on a page, the book might be too challenging.

Teacher Requests
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, please know that we take great care in creating balanced and supportive class lists for all students. Many factors are thoughtfully considered in this process, including academic needs, learning styles, social dynamics, and overall classroom composition. While we truly value parent input as one piece of information in understanding your child, we are not accepting specific teacher or placement requests for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to ensure equitable, well-balanced classrooms where every child can thrive, and we appreciate your trust in our professional judgment and commitment to your child’s success.
