Students created a product, marketing pitch and advertisement. They gave their pitch in front of the class, and then asked for our investment in the form of Husky Bucks. It was modeled after the popular show "Shark Tank". Thanks to Mr. Limb and Mr. Bach for supporting this fun work with students!

Dear Families,

Welcome back! This week is the last week of Quarter 3. There is no school on Friday, April 3rd for grading, and no school Monday, April 6th for teacher planning. All Smiles Dental Services will be at Hosford this week. If you did not sign your child up for free dental services and would like to, please call the main office. We can help!

Thank you,

Jill Liddle, Principal

This resource tells what learning activities were assigned in each class. It is a great way to check on assignments with your child. Middle school is a time when students need help developing the routine of reflection and organizing materials. This resource is your support for those conversations.

Back To School Night Feedback Back To School Night Feedback

Our Hosford Equity Committee is wondering how our Back to School Night is serving you. This is the event in September where you join me in the gym, and then move through each class period that your child has. The intention is for you to see each teacher, be in each classroom and hear about what students will be learning and how you can support at home.

Our Equity Committee is wondering if this is the best format. Specifically, they are thinking about the rigidity of the time schedule and how this makes families feel if they are not able to arrive early or keep up with the quick schedule.

Please share your thoughts with us. If it's working and you like it, please let us know. If it's not and you'd like to see it change, please let us know. Your voice matters. We are all here in service of you and your children. Click here to share your thoughts.

Attention 8th Grade Families! Attention 8th Grade Families!

Students will be headed to Marshall on April 24th for a glimpse into their freshman year. Cleveland staff will be ready to greet students and answer all their questions. We still need 5 chaperones to join us! If you are available from 1:30-4pm on April 24th, please email kacaleal@pps.net. Thank you!

Oregon Battle of the Books Update! Oregon Battle of the Books Update!

The Fiery Chickens OBOB team won Hosford's school battles with a pool play total of 75 points, and then a final battle (with 32 questions) with a total of 98 points. Then at regionals we had 4 pool play battles, where we won all our battles except for one where we tied with the highest ranked team there. By lunchtime, we advanced to the 'sweet sixteen' with a total of 133 points. From there we made it up to the 'elite eight' where we lost by one question and were eliminated

The Hosford PTSA needs more helpers. We are currently operating without a president and vice president among other board members. Please consider helping even if you want to do just a small one-time task. The PTSA is responsible for fundraising and distributing around $10,000 for teacher and staff needs every school year, as well as supporting events for students and staff. We could really use help with the following events and tasks:

  • Communications help - admin for Facebook and/or Instagram (low volume posting for restaurant dine-outs and news)
  • Staff Appreciation help - coordinate one or more snack events for staff; do something for Staff Appreciation Week in May; coordinate end-of-year staff party
  • 8th Grade Oaks Park field trip help - help organize meal for the 8th graders at their end-of-year field trip in June
  • 8th Grade Promotion help - help organize reception refreshments at 8th grade promotion in June

Open Positions:

  • Member-at-Large
  • Communications Chair
  • Staff Appreciation Chair
  • President
  • Vice President

Please email ptsahosford@gmail with any questions. Thank you!
