May/June 2026 Edition
The Morris School District is proud to provide ample opportunities in the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our teachers are extremely dedicated and skilled in promoting and developing creativity, aptitude, and enthusiasm within their respective fields. Our students excel in the art studio, on stage, and in the graphic arts.

The marching band braved the rainy weather to honor our veterans, performing at the Morris Plains Memorial Parade and the Morristown & Township Ceremonies on Memorial Day weekend.
We are incredibly proud of Garret Gregor, Arthur Rachofsky, and Cristian Tamay for their moving featured performances of "Taps" and the National Anthem. It is always a true honor to represent our community on such important occasions, and we thank all those who served.

FMS Art Show
On May 27, Frelinghuysen Middle School proudly hosted its annual Art Show, showcasing the creativity and talent of student artists. The exhibition featured an impressive variety of works, including paintings, drawings, ceramics, 3D paper sculptures, and papier-mâché creations.
Throughout the year, students explored observational drawing techniques while also studying influential artists from art history, drawing inspiration from their styles, methods, and artistic contributions. The resulting projects demonstrated both technical skill and creative expression.
The 6th Grade hallway of the school was transformed into a vibrant gallery, filled with beautiful artwork that reflected the hard work and dedication of the students. Families, friends, and community members came out in large numbers to celebrate the young artists and admire their accomplishments. The evening was a wonderful showcase of student achievement and the important role that art plays in fostering creativity, observation, and self-expression.

6th Grade Silhouette Collages
Students created striking silhouette self-portrait collages designed to represent their unique personalities. To bring their profiles to life, they selected a specific color scheme and meticulously layered cut magazine papers to build vibrant, meaningful backgrounds.
