Morning Worship and Devotion
Daily Scripture Focus
Each morning we start the day with a time of singing and a word from scripture. Morning devotion time is a time for focus, learning, and putting God first in what we do each day.
The morning devotion is led by Mr. Yearwood most days, but there are also weekly opportunities for students and faculty members to lead.
Some of the scriptures used this week were:
- 2 Corinthians 4:18
- Philippians 4:8
- Proverbs 3:1-6
- Proverbs 31:25-26
A Look Back at Last Week
Measuring Up
Mrs. Shaddrix's kindergarten students are learning all about measurement. Students enjoyed taking their rulers around the room to measure and compare items. This fun activity covers a very important mathematical concept that will be used throughout life.
SGA Speeches
On Tuesday upper school students heard from potential student leaders at our first ever student government assembly. With the help of Mrs. Griffin, students have been working on forming a CCS chapter of SGA. As a big first step, students who are interested in being leaders prepared and gave formal speeches as they kicked off their campaigns for office. On Tuesday, November 4th the student body will vote for their choices for those leadership roles.
Popsicle Truck
Lower school students enjoyed a visit from the popsicle truck. The weather is getting cooler, but that doesn't stop us from loving a good frozen treat!
4D Farms
Spherodoodles
Guillion Farm
On Friday the 1st grade classes visited Gullion Farms to learn more about life on the farm. The day included a corn pit, milking a cow, gathering eggs, slides, a pumpkin patch, and much more. Thank you to the parents who spent this fun day with us!
Pumpkin Painting
Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere! Students at the lower school enjoyed painting pumpkins this week. There were so many creative ideas! Great job by all!
Farm City Winner
Congratulations to Chasen Hampton for being selected as a Farm City poster winner! His poster is being displayed at the courthouse.
6-7 Shenanigans
Coach Cydney and Coach Nikki had a fun time cutting up with students with their 6-7 matching shirts.
Dinner Theater Performance
On Saturday our Fine & Performing Arts Department did an outstanding job producing its first dinner theater event. The event included an adapted performance of C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters and an all-you-can-eat chili dinner. Mrs. Griffin, Mrs. Warden, the drama students, and the chorus students did a wonderful job preparing and executing this fun event. Thank you to everyone who came out to the performance!

Veterans Day Program
We are excited to formally announce our Veterans Day Program will take place Monday, November 10th at 8:15 AM. It will be held in the sanctuary at Northbrook Baptist Church. 3691 AL-157, Cullman, AL 35058. This program will feature performances by students in grades PreK through 12th grade in honor of the men and women who have served our country. The program will start at 8:15 but we want to encourage our students to arrive by 7:55. This will allow for everyone to get settled and take bathroom breaks, etc.
We hope you are already making plans to attend! All veterans and/or active service members who are connected with CCS in any way are invited to attend as well as parents, grandparents, and other friends and family.
Students will wear uniforms. No Carolina blue. Red accessories may be worn but no hats. Think patriotic.
STUDENTS PreK-5th
All students PreK-5th will be walked in by parents/special guests at Northbrook Baptist Church. Students should stop by the restroom then be checked in with their teacher. Teachers will be waiting to receive students in their designated seats in the sanctuary. (There will be NO before care available.)
STUDENTS 6th-12th
Students 6th-12th grade can enter the front doors of Northbrook Baptist Church, stop by the restroom, and meet their homeroom teacher in the sanctuary.
Parents will be able to check students out after the program. There will be no penalty for this absence. Students staying for the remainder of the school day will ride the bus back to their designated campus. Please make homeroom teachers aware, if your student will be staying for the entire school day so the bus plan can be made.
Afternoon carlines at Beech will run as usual starting at 2:15 and 2:55. Upper will dismiss at the normal time as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. We can't wait to showcase our talented students and show gratitude to our veterans.
