Jaguars of the Week
Early Release Day - 1:40 pm TOMORROW
Tomorrow is an Early Release Day tomorrow for students in first - fifth grade. Students will be dismissed at 1:40 pm.
Tomorrow is Disney Day at DuJardin!
Get ready for some magic! Tomorrow is Disney Day, a fun spirit event sponsored by the DuJardin Student Council.
We encourage all students to participate by showing off their favorite Disney spirit! Students may wear clothing (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) that features Disney characters, logos, or themes. Hats and Mickey/Minnie Mouse ears are also welcome. Please remind your child that this is NOT a costume day. Students should not wear full costumes, capes, face paint, or masks that cover the face. This ensures we maintain a safe and focused learning environment while we celebrate the magic of Disney!
Thank you to our Student Council for making tomorrow a fun and memorable day!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Click here to access teacher links to schedule Parent-Teacher conferences.
Conferences are scheduled for the week of November 11th-17th & Monday, November 24th. Parents & guardians have the option of visiting with teachers in person or using Google Meets. Please feel free to reach out directly to your child's teacher(s) should you need any assistance scheduling a conference.
No School Next Week
There is also no school for students in D13 next week. Monday is Parent-Teacher Conference Day from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. If you have not signed up for a conference, please do so by clicking here. We hope all of our students enjoy the week with families and friends!
Holiday Gift Magic
The PTO is thrilled to announce the return of the Holiday Gift Shop! This is a magical opportunity for our students to experience the joy of giving by secretly shopping for special, affordable gifts for their family and friends. Keep an eye on your child’s backpack! A flyer will be coming home today or tomorrow.
Mark your calendars! Students will be visiting the Gift Shop on December 9th or 10th.
Strong Like Kate Toy Drive
This holiday season, the DuJardin Student Council would like help in sharing the spirit of kindness and strength with children who need it most. We are honored to host the Strong Like Kate Toy Drive to benefit patients spending their holidays at Lurie Children’s Hospital.
For a child, being hospitalized during December is incredibly tough. Through this drive, we aim to bring comfort, cheer, and a much-needed sense of normalcy to these courageous kids and their families. Every single donation helps transform a sterile hospital room into a place of holiday magic.
How You Can Help:
We are collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys for children and teens of all ages.
Infant/Toddler: Musical toys, light-up toys, interactive play mats.
School-Age: LEGO sets, craft kits, coloring books, action figures, dolls.
Teens: Gift cards (for music, movies, or gaming), journals, fuzzy blankets, portable Bluetooth speakers, and art supplies.
Donation Details:
Please drop off your new, unwrapped gift in the collection box located in the lobby between December 1st and December 12th.
Thank you for demonstrating the strength and generosity that makes our community so special. Together, we can make this season brighter for a child facing a tough battle.
HUMANeX Culture & Climate Survey
In our continual efforts for improvement, District 13 strives to ensure parents of our students know their opinions are valued and feel welcome in our schools.
We would like to invite you to complete a 5-minute survey to let us know your thoughts. The online survey is being conducted by our partner, HUMANeX Ventures®, and will be used to better understand perceptions regarding the school, teachers, principal(s), and superintendent. This survey is completely anonymous and confidential. No individual responses will be reported; rather, the responses will be reported in an aggregate fashion.
The survey closes November 25, 2025.

Message from Nurse Rosero
Required Health Forms for the upcoming school year:
- Kindergarten: Physical, Dental, & Vision
- 2nd Grade: Dental
- Health Office Website
Student Needs:
Please inform the nurse of any allergies or sensitivities to foods, medications, and environmental allergens. If there are any pertinent details of your students' health that you feel the nurse needs to know, please reach out and discuss this with the school nurse. This information can be helpful to better support your student throughout the day, if certain situations arise.
About Your Student’s Medication:
The district's medication administration policy mandates that all medication to be administered at school requires an MD order, this includes over-the-counter medications. Students may NOT keep over-the-counter meds in their backpacks or in their lockers--including cough drops, Advil, etc. This is an important safety concern! Please review the policy included in the registration process.
If your student requires an inhaler, Epi-Pen, or any oral medication, please obtain the medication form and appropriate health care plan from your physician when your child has their exam. Forms may also be obtained on the district website.
Excused Physical Education Class:
Please note that all PE excuses need to be sent to the Nurse's Office. A parent may excuse a student from PE for up to 3 days. (consecutively) Thereafter, a Doctor's note is required.
Calls home from the Nurse:
Phone calls home are warranted in the event of a head injury, minor or major
All in school sickness including fever of 100.4 (oral) or greater, vomiting and/or diarrhea

AR Reading Program
The Accelerated Reader (AR) program at DuJardin: Students in first-fifth grade can take AR tests on the books they read.
As students earn points, they can get rewards, including bookmarks, brag tags, and a chance to attend our special AR Night Out in January and the big End of Year Field Trip in May!
Mr. Pearlman will be going over the AR program during library with our First and Second grade students this coming week. Most books we have in the library are AR books and students can read the book and take a quiz to earn points. So, find a great book, get reading, and let's get those points!

Please note: this is an optional reading incentive program.
