KES Family Newsletter
June Edition
Almost There!
It is hard to believe we have reached the last week of the 2024-2025 school year! We hope that all our KES families are looking forward to all the fun activities that summer brings with it! As we wrap up another successful school year, we wanted to touch base on a few last-minute items. Keep reading this edition of our KES Family Newsletter for updates regarding our last week of school!
Summer Meet-Up Eat-Up Program
This summer Kingston is offering a meal program to all of its families. Any children (0-18 years) can receive 5 free breakfasts and lunches prepared by our kitchen staff. Meals for the week can be picked up on Mondays from the KES cafeteria from 3pm-5pm beginning June 16th. The week of June 30th there will be no meals served as all our staff members will be off that week. The last Monday for the program will be August 11th. The registration form for each week will be sent via text message the previous week, so be on the lookout for messages with more information on how to sign up.
For additional Information: View the Kingston Meet-Up Eat-Up Info Flyer, Visit www.michigan.gov/MeetUpEatUp or text Food to 877-877 to find a site near you.
Teacher Requests for 2025-2026 School Year
We are still accepting teacher request forms for the 2025-2026 school year. If you would like to make a teacher request for your student for next school year, please fill out the request form located in the front of your student's KES planner (page 22) or come to the front office and fill one out before the last day of school.
Lost and Found Info
Our lost and found is full and we would like to make sure as many items as possible make it back to their original owners. We will have the items present at parent pick-up each day this week so that families can collect any items that belong to them before the end of the year. Any items remaining after this week will be donated.
Calling All Cardinals!
Though our KES Enrollment night has already passed, it is not too late to get our youngest Cardinals signed up for the 2025-2026 school year! We are still accepting Kindergarten and GSRP Preschool enrollment applications. If you or someone you know has a child that needs to sign up, please have them call the KES main office for more information! Or, you can register your child (must turn 4 by December 1st 2025) for preschool using this GSRP Registration Form.
Mrs. Gentner's Update
The results for the clothing drive battle are in! As a school, we collected 2,004 pounds of clothing to donate to the Family Promise organization of Tuscola County! The donations and proceeds will go toward assisting homeless families in our communities.
The rankings are:
1st place: Mrs. Mossner (471 lbs)
2nd place: Mrs. Siemen (264 lbs)
3rd place: Mrs. Machota (160 lbs)
4th place: Mrs. VanCamp (154 lbs)
5th place: Mrs. Schank (150 lbs)
Mrs. Mossner's class will be enjoying a pizza party this week! Thank you everyone for such a great turnout! If you would like to donate more to this cause, donations are accepted year round at Family Promise Thrift Store located at 102 Joy St in Caro.
