Construction Update

Thank you for the patience, flexibility, and understanding you have shown while we await completion of the new Mountain Ridge Primary School. We know this has required adjustments for your children and families, and we appreciate your continued support.

I also want to recognize our incredible teachers, service personnel, and entire school team. Under Mrs. Frye’s leadership, they have worked hard to support students and keep learning moving forward. I am proud of them.

The continued construction delay is unacceptable. We share your frustration and are taking formal steps to hold the contractor accountable.

This week, district leadership, our architect, and the contractor’s bonding company met at the site to address the remaining work. We have required the contractor to submit a complete recovery schedule, which our project team will review before we share updated milestones.

We are pressing for substantial completion and a move into the new school between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That is our goal, but we cannot confirm a move date today. Required approvals, classroom preparation, and an orderly transition must be addressed before students move in.

At the same time, we are planning for instruction and school operations to continue at the temporary campus if that timeframe is not achieved, including arrangements beyond December if needed. We will keep families informed and provide updates as we get closer to a completion date.

Your patience does not lessen our responsibility to get this school completed. We will continue advocating for our students, staff, and families and will share a move date when we have a dependable plan to support it.
