CNE High School Family Newsletter

No school for students this Friday, as our staff has our first Professional Development Day since the start of the school year. The focus for our professional development will be Restorative Practices, which is simply a system that schools implement to help build strong relationships, a sense of community, and an opportunity for students to grow and learn from the decisions they make.

As you also likely know, this weekend marks the 48th Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals Car Show! Not only is this a great event in our community, but it also brings with it the opportunity for various groups associated with our school to do some volunteer work and fund raising. Certainly a lot going on this week for CNE High School!

We are making some adjustments to our original plans for Parent-Teacher Conferences, and that involves adding an additional night for conferences. The schedule will be:

• Tuesday, Oct. 29th: 2:30pm - 6:00pm
• This evening will still have the "Teach N' Treat" Student Led Conferences theme, and the original time has been shortened.
• Monday, Nov. 4th: 2:30pm - 6:00pm
• This evening will present the traditional conferences approach, with families having the chance to schedule one on one conferences with teachers. Parents will have the option of having these conferences either in person or virtual.

• Starting next week, our Guest WiFi will be turned off during the school day, but available for events taking place in the building outside of the school day.

• If your student is using a non-school issued Chromebook during the school day, they will need to switch back to the school-issued Chromebook to access WiFi during the school day.

• PLEASE NOTE: Whenever your student is using a school-issued device, that device is actively monitored by our safety and security software for anything that might raise a concern. Please have a conversation with your student reminding them that school devices should be used for school-appropriate work.
