Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
This is the last call to join our Community Advisory Team (CAT) for the 2026-27 school year! The CAT serves as a bridge between our community and district leadership. During the meetings, we provide information about how our district operates and gather feedback from our community to help us continue to improve.
During last month’s Board of Education Meeting, community member Patrick Edmunds shared his experience serving on the CAT this school year. He said this: “It's clear that the district is making a thoughtful effort to bring community voices into the conversation in a meaningful way." Others who have served on the CAT have told us it’s been a valuable experience and they’ve come away with a greater understanding of school finances and the effort that goes into keeping Loveland a great district. We’ll hold evening meetings a few times during the upcoming school year. Please consider following this link to complete the CAT application and let us know you’re interested. Anyone who lives in our district is welcome to take part.
We are quickly approaching the end of the school year. It has gone by fast, and this has been a fantastic year for Loveland City Schools. I’ll wrap up the year and celebrate some highlights in next month’s newsletter. Share this newsletter with your friends and neighbors, so they don’t miss out! They can follow this link to sign up, so they’ll receive our Community Newsletter in their inbox.

Treasurer’s Message
Loveland Community Members,
As we move through these final months of the academic year, our district is currently balancing two very important priorities: finishing our work for the current year with excellence and making the necessary preparations for a successful start to the next school year.
While our primary focus is always on student achievement, we also recognize that our success in the classroom is built upon a foundation of fiscal responsibility and trust with our taxpayers.
To that end, I am writing to share some significant news regarding our district’s financial health.
The Ohio Auditor of State’s office recently released our Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Audit. I am proud to report that our district received a "clean" audit. This is the highest standard of reporting, and specifically, the audit found:
No Material Weaknesses: Our internal accounting controls are strong and reliable.
No Findings for Recovery: All public funds were accounted for and managed correctly.
No Questioned Costs: Every dollar spent met the rigorous requirements of state and federal law.
In an effort to provide even greater transparency, our team went above and beyond the standard requirements this year by preparing an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). This high-level document is utilized in both our Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) audit and our financial audit. It represents our commitment to providing a detailed, transparent look at how your tax dollars are being used to support our students.
We believe that being good stewards of public resources is just as important as the quality of education we provide. I invite you to review the full details of our financial standing in the public report linked HERE.
Also, the past two Finance Friday videos have focused on our expenses and our revenues. We encourage you to review both of these releases at the links below:
Thank you for your continued support of our schools and our students. We look forward to a strong finish to the year and an even stronger beginning this coming fall. As always, please reach out with any questions at espyjo@lovelandschools.org.
Go Tigers!

School Finance Town Hall
We held a School Finance Town Hall last month to share important information with our community. Thank you to everyone who came out to learn more about how we’ve worked to cut costs, while still providing a great education for our students. It was the tenth Town Hall we’ve held since 2023, and we are committed to engaging with our community.
Help Us Stuff the Bus
Our Transportation Department has teamed up with the LIFE Food Pantry for a “Stuff the Bus” donation day on Sunday, May 17. You’ll see yellow school buses at the Loveland Kroger on Loveland Madeira Road and the Branch Hill Kroger on Branch Hill Guinea Pike. If you shop at those stores between 10 am and 2 pm on May 17, you can drop off donations of non-perishable food items and help us “Stuff the Bus.” Both Kroger locations will also have suggested donation items available for purchase in the weeks leading up to May 17, with collection boxes near the front door. If you can, please consider donating to help local families in need.
Loveland Among the "Best Communities for Music Education"
We’re excited to announce that Loveland City School District has once again been named one of the country’s “Best Communities for Music Education!” Each year, the NAMM Foundation collects information from school districts across the country and honors outstanding districts with this recognition. This honor recognizes that our district is helping students of all ages pursue their passions in the performing arts. We already know that Loveland is one of the best communities to live, work, play, and raise a family - now we can add music education to the list.
This recognition would not be possible without the amazing music teachers we have across our district. Thank you to all of them for their hard work and dedication to our students! Read more about the "Best Communities for Music Education” award by following this link to our website.
