THANK YOU!!

A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make Trunk or Treat and our Fall Parties such a success! We also want to give a special shout-out to our incredible PTA for all the time, effort, and hard work that went into organizing these wonderful events. We are so grateful for your continued partnership and everything you do to make Highland Park such a special place for our students and families!

Survery Feedback

LSR7 parents have two opportunities to give feedback to the district:

  • Culture and Climate Survey for Caregivers (Now - Oct. 30): Provide feedback on your student’s experience. This feedback is seen at the district and building level.

  • Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) Survey (Now - Oct. 22): Feedback is used to create the next three year plan for the district. There is also an opportunity at the end of the survey to express interest in participating in the committee that creates the CSIP.

We encourage you to take both surveys. In total, they will take about ten minutes to complete.

PTA Member Spotlight: October

Name: Rhiannon Moore

Parent/Family: Rhiley (4th), Jaxon (1st)

PTA Role: VP1

Why I joined PTA: To help build a strong, supportive community and be more involved in my children’s educational and social/developmental experiences.

Favorite part of being involved: Spending some extra quality time with my kiddos at school events while they’re still young enough to be excited about me hanging around. It’s also great to get to know their friends and see them all growing and learning!

Favorite school event: Bingo for Books

Fun fact: I’ve always loved animals and have had all kinds of pets but currently keep from acquiring any more by volunteering with KC Pet Project.

Major Saver Questions?

The cash/check sales and tickets will not show up until Major Saver put those in their system after the two collection days (Nov. 4th and Nov. 9th).

If a parent/guardian has questions, they can contact the Major Saver office at 816-554-7999 or email them at info@majorsaver.com

School Store-As Holidays Approach

Shop for lots of gifts, magazines, and gain access to retail discounts! HPE will receive a portion of proceeds to bolster our activity funds (for many things that are not covered with District funds). Thank you in advance. We wish you and yours a joyous year-end holiday season.

P.S. Our Student Lighthouse also raises funds to assist HPE families in need during the holidays. Send a tax-deductible donation of cash or check (payable to "HPE) to the Front Office with a note in the Memo for "Student Lighthouse."

HPE Playground Closure-Before and After School Hours

At this time, the HPE playground is closed before and after school hours. Unfortunately, due to vandalism over the past year, we are closing the playground during these times in order to help keep it clean, safe, and ready for our students. The playground gates will be locked during these hours. Please help us by encouraging your child to NOT attempt to jump or climb the fence to access the playground.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our HPE playground a safe and welcoming space for all of our students. Thank you for helping us take care of our school!

Securly Information-Helping Students Build Healthy Technology Habits

Families have access to tools that can help support healthy technology habits at home. With Securly, parents/guardians can view the websites their student has visited, set guidelines for which websites can and cannot be accessed, and establish a bedtime or device-free time.

These tools can be especially helpful for families who are working to establish healthy boundaries around technology and screen time. We encourage families to explore these options and find routines that work best for their children. Creating consistent expectations at home can help students develop responsible and healthy digital habits.

Check out the Securly info video for more information!
