DMS Principal's Corner

Dear Dewey Middle School Families,
As we welcome the arrival of April, we are entering an important season for our students: the Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP). We will begin testing on April 14. This time of year is a chance for our Bulldoggers to showcase the hard work theyβve put in since August.
How to Support Your Student
You play a critical role in helping your child feel confident and prepared. Here are a few ways to help them succeed:
Practice at Home: Encourage your student to explore the OSTP Practice Tests to become familiar with the online tools and question formats.
The "Night Before" Routine: Ensure your student gets a full night's rest (8β9 hours for middle schoolers) and avoids "cramming," which can increase anxiety.
Test Day Fuel: A nutritious, non-sugary breakfast is essential for maintaining focus throughout the morning.
Positive Reinforcement: Remind your child to simply do their best. Reassure them that their value is not measured by a score and that you are proud of their effort.
