Chromebooks: Dangerous TIK TOK trend FYI
There are trending videos on TikTok and YouTube showing kids putting graphite pencil lead or paper clips into the USB or USB-C ports on their Chromebooks to burn them out. Unfortunately, this kind of damage can cause cascading shorts throughout the device, possibly damaging other components.
If we receive a device with clear burn marks around a USB or USB-C port from a student, that repair will be a full device replacement at cost since this is not considered accidental. damage
RECYCLING AND RE-USING SUPPLIES
It’s time to sort out school supplies! The Carpenter Green Team would like to encourage all families to help students sort through their school supplies by
Reusing as many of their school supplies as possible for the next school year. Check out these lists.
Donating any gently used school supplies like notebooks, folders, writing & drawing utensils, rulers, pencil cases, etc.
Carpenter School will have a donation box inside near the office.
We will also have a drop box at 229 N Broadway Ave. May 29th - June 7th and will donate items to area schools in need, the Crayon Initiative, or bring to Scarce, an organization who works to reduce waste and give back to students everywhere.
Recycling all paper products (notebooks/folders). Just make sure to remove any metal parts.
Thank you for helping make the world a greener place!
