School Pictures Update!

December 1, 2021

We have set a date to have school pictures taken this year on Wednesday, December 1st. Life Touch Photography is the company that will be taking our school pictures. This is the earliest date available, however, we are working directly with the company to see if an earlier date is possible. If we are able to get an earlier scheduled date, that allows for enough advance notice, we will alert families timely. Be on the lookout for more details.

It's Spirit Week!

JO-JO do you have a pass to be in the hallway?

Look at the level of intrigue from our students!

"JO-JO "the cardinal has been sporadically popping up and our students ABSOLUTELY LOVE seeing this magnificent bird. JO-JO, whose name is derived from the "J.O." in J.O. Wilson, has made guest appearances in classrooms, and morning arrival will continue to show up and to support our students during events being held here at JOW. So if your cardinal happens to mention to you that there was a BIG RED BIRD at school today please be sure to listen attentively.

Tips to Improve Your Child's Attendance

  • Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
  • Layout clothes and backpacks the night before.
  • Don’t let your child stay home unless they are truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
  • If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school social-worker, or other parents for advice on how to make her feel comfortable and excited about learning.
  • Develop backup plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
  • Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
