Roberts Stadium Brings New Era to Hewitt-Trussville Softball
On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Trussville City Schools proudly hosted the official ribbon cutting of Roberts Stadium, the new home of the Hewitt-Trussville Softball program. The celebration brought together student-athletes, families, alumni, coaches, district leadership, city officials, and supportive community partners who have long championed the growth of athletics in Trussville.
The development of Roberts Stadium represents the very best of community partnership. Local and state legislators played a vital role in helping the district secure the resources and support needed to bring this major project to life. Their advocacy ensured that Hewitt-Trussville student-athletes have access to a premier venue that reflects the excellence and tradition of the program.
As the Hewitt-Trussville Softball program embarks on a new chapter in this extraordinary venue, Roberts Stadium will stand as a daily reminder of the community that believes in them and invests in their success. The future is bright for the Huskies, and this ribbon cutting marks only the beginning of many great moments to come. Go Huskies!

HTHS Senior Murphy Peterson Named Outstanding District III Choral Student
HTHS Chamber Choir senior Murphy Peterson has been named this year's female Outstanding Choral Student from AVA (Alabama Vocal Association) District III. This is a distinct honor, as District III includes all schools and school systems within Jefferson and Walker Counties and is one of the largest and most competitive districts.
Murphy was chosen after a review of her resume, essay, letters of recommendation, interview, and vocal audition. This spring, she will compete for State Outstanding Choral Student against the winners from the other six districts.
This is the second year in a row that a student from HTHS has been awarded this honor. Way to go, Murphy!

Cahaba Trailblazer Adventures
Cahaba Trailblazers is a 4th–5th grade enrichment course where students learn the engineering design process by exploring the outdoors and understanding a hiker’s needs. Because engineering begins with empathy, students spent the day hiking Ruffner Mountain, documenting their experience with GoPros while practicing skills like map reading, using trekking poles, basic first aid, and identifying safe campsites.
Along the trail, they spotted salamanders, a snake, and various fungi, connecting what they saw to their classroom learning. They also discussed simple engineering solutions like trail stairs that protect nature while helping hikers. Back at school, students were challenged to reflect on the hike and consider what products they could design based on what they learned. We can’t wait to see their ideas!
