Tambark Creek Elementary Principal Newsletter
From the Principal’s Desk – May 2026
Dear Tambark Creek Families,
As we move into May, we are nearing the end of the 2025–2026 school year. It’s hard to believe we have just six weeks remaining and still so many meaningful learning experiences ahead.
This month, students in grades 3–5 will be participating in the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). We appreciate your support in ensuring students arrive on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best. In addition to testing, several grade levels will be enjoying field trips, providing valuable opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom.
We are also excited to begin preparing for our annual Field Day, which will take place on June 11. This is a highlight of the year for our students, filled with outdoor activities, music with DJ Mr. B, popsicles, and more. This event would not be possible without the support of our incredible volunteers. Please sign up using the link below:

A Message from Ms. Sparks, PE Teacher:
Our annual TCE Field Day is fast approaching, and we need your help! Each year, parents and staff come together to run over 25 stations, including Face Painting, Tug-of-War, Football Toss, Scooter Races, and much more. Please consider volunteering to make this event a success. Questions? Contact Ms. Sparks at ksparks@everettsd.org.
We have also attached the TCE Field Day flyer with a QR code for signing up to volunteer.
As we head into these final weeks, please remember that daily attendance and punctuality are essential. Being present and on time each day helps students stay engaged, maintain routines, and continue making strong academic progress.
Finally, we had a wonderful time celebrating our incredible TCE staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTSA for organizing such thoughtful and creative ways to honor our team. From coffee and treats to a fun camping-themed week complete with “survival essentials” and hidden mini sasquatches, your appreciation means so much to all of us.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to a strong and joyful finish to the school year.
(Note: In order to volunteer for Field Day, you must be an approved volunteer through our district. Here is the link to apply: https://www.applitrack.com/everettsd/onlineapp/_application.aspx?starting=true)

Attendance!
Dear TCE Families,
We look forward to seeing all our Mountain Lion's faces in school each day. With that being said, every minute of school time is valuable for your student's educational and social growth.
- Please make sure your kids are on time to line up with their class no later than 9:05 AM. Important social emotional and transitioning time occurs in the first few minutes of the day.
- Please schedule travel during school breaks. Travel should not occur on days when school is in session.
- Dismissal is 3:30 PM (2:15 on Fridays). Please be on time for pick-up, as there is no supervision after this time.
Why regular, on-time attendance is important:
1. Regular attendance allows children to benefit from participating in quality early education.
2. A habit of attendance IS a school readiness skill.
3. Good attendance reflects strong parent engagement.
Please see our district's attendance policy below:
