Spring NWEA Testing
Students in 6th - 12th grades will be taking their Spring NWEA tests next week using the following schedule:
Monday, April 28th - Reading
Tuesday, April 29th - Math
Wednesday, April 30th - Science
Testing for most students will take place first thing in the morning. Students who attend BACC in the morning will complete their testing upon return to the building in the early afternoon.
All students have "Growth Goals" that were established based on their Fall scores. Again this Spring: When a student meets their Growth Goal in a subject area test, they will earn a 10% increase in their final exam score/a final project or test in that subject area. Our hope is that our students will take these tests seriously and they are all able to meet their goals in each of the 3 subject areas that are tested.

Student Dress Code / Handbook Reminders
As the weather warms, we want to provide the following reminders in relation to the Dress Code per our handbook -
Please remind your child(ren) to adhere to the following...
- Shirts, blouses, and tops must cover the stomach/midriff, cleavage, and shoulders
- Pants, jeans, or shorts are to be worn appropriately secured at the waist. If pants have holes in them, no skin should be visible using the knuckle-length measure mentioned next.
- Shorts, Skirts, and dresses are required to be at least knuckle-length as measured when fists are made with shoulders relaxed and arms fully extended down on the sides.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Coming Soon: Splash of Purple, Dash of Gold Color Run
Come one, come all! New this year, the Bronson High School Student Council will be hosting the Splash of Purple, Dash of Gold Color Run Fundraiser. We invite you to consider registering for what is sure to be an enjoyable event. This 5K run or 1 mile walk will take place on Friday, June 6th starting at 6:00 p.m. at Bronson Jr./Sr. High School. All proceeds will be going toward updating equipment for the Physical Education department and other student activities.
Student Chromebooks
We kindly ask that you remind your child(ren) that the Chromebook they have been issued to use is an expensive piece of technology. A new device costs $250 and a screen replacement is $50. Unfortunately, we've seen an increased frequency in incidents of intentional damage in recent weeks. The handbook states (page 20), "Destruction of Technology Equipment - Knowingly and willfully..will result in the student having to reimburse the district...". Thank you for your help with this.
After School Academic Support
After School Academic Support has concluded for this school year. We applaud and appreciate the many students who participated and utilized this support across the school year and we look forward to offering it again next year.
A special thanks to Ms. Blemaster, Ms. Beck, Mrs. Franks, Ms. Medema, Ms. Mudd, & Ms. Smith for hosted this program for our BJSHS students this year. Your efforts, commitment, and dedication to supporting our students are greatly appreciated.
Viking Care Center Help is Available
The Viking Care Center was established as a way to give students and their families help by providing items that are needed. We have clothing, some outerwear, hats, and gloves, shoes, toiletries, some food items, and some laundry products available at the school. Please have your child talk with someone here at school or feel free to contact the office about the needs your family may be facing. We would love to help!
