District Update
No School Monday
Monday is both Columbus Day and Indigenous People Day. Enjoy your day off!
Preparing for Halloween
As Halloween approaches, we are asking for donations for our school-wide trick-or-treating. We take advantage of our small size this day. We want kids to dress up, have fun, and get some treats. We would love any candy, snack, or non-food items. Each trick-or-treat location will have a non-food option.
Communication System
Unfortunately, Remind has been bought out by another company. We have done everything we can do to get a messaging system up and running. The vendor has an error that they are working on and until then we apologize for our limited communication with parents.

According to Attendance Works- "Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school."

Family Physical Education Week
This week we celebrate family physical education. I'd like to thank our P.E. Teachers for all they do to teach our students about keeping active and taking care of their bodies.
Middle High School Update
From the Science Classroom to the Stage
One of our high school science teachers, Mrs. Jen Crane, shared a passion beyond the classroom at Alfred State College’s Sophomore Career Day on Tuesday.
As a regular vocalist and bassist in a band outside of school, Mrs. Crane presented on what it’s like to be a musician. The session offered students a glimpse into the world of musical performance and showed how interests and talents can lead to opportunities beyond a person’s primary career.
Exploring Opportunities with the BOCES Roadshow
ACS sophomores recently learned about the programs available at GST BOCES’ Wildwood campus in Hornell during a visit from the BOCES Roadshow.
Jen Gallicchio, a GST BOCES counselor, introduced sophomores to programming options and opportunities to explore career interests through hands-on learning. The visit helped students consider how BOCES programs could fit into their high school experience and future plans.
Sophomores Explore Future Careers
ACS sophomores traveled to Alfred State College on Tuesday for its annual Career Day.
Students had the opportunity to explore career paths, hear from professionals, and learn about the education and skills needed for different fields. The experience encouraged students to connect their interests with possibilities for life after high school.
