Our Year 3 children (and staff!) have been busy this week as they led our worship on Wednesday which was followed up by an educational visit to Bradford on Thursday.

In Bradford, they visited a Hindu temple. They were fascinated by the spectacular shrine, beautifully decorated with murtis (Hindu gods and goddesses), and enjoyed experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of the temple. The children have developed an impressive understanding of how Hindus in Britain live their lives.

Later in the day, they took part in an Indian dance workshop, where they retold the story of Rama and Sita through dance. They were wonderful ambassadors for the school, and we were very proud of how enthusiastically they joined in and how thoughtfully they asked questions.

Caring for God's World Caring for God's World

This week, our Year 3 pupils led a thoughtful and inspiring class worship focused on Caring for God’s World – Here in Ripon and Everywhere. The children explored the beauty of nature, discussed what climate change is, and learned how it affects our local environment, the UK, and the wider world.

They explained how changing weather patterns can lead to flooding, hotter summers, and challenges for plants and animals. Through quizzes and questions, pupils showed great understanding that climate change affects everyone and everything – not just people in other countries.

Year 3 also shared the positive actions they are taking in school and the local community. Plans include litter picking around school and Ripon, planting wildflowers to support bees and butterflies, and caring for green spaces. They reminded everyone that small daily actions can make a big difference, such as turning off lights, saving water, recycling, and choosing to walk or cycle instead of using cars.

Well done to Year 3 for leading such an important and meaningful worship — inspiring us all to care for our world.
