Dear families,
We are literally blowing through these last days of March. The calendar below has been updated with all kinds of activities - make sure that you are marking these on your calendars, so that you don't miss anything. We are still adding some grade level field trips, so if you don't see a particular grade level, it doesn't mean they are not having one, just that it is not 100% planned out.
STAAR is coming during April - attendance is vital on those days to allow your student to maximize their testing environment. Also, to allow all students uninterrupted time, we will not pull students from class during the testing window. Please do not schedule any appointments during STAAR testing days. Those days are April 16 (3-5) April 23 (5th only) and April 30 (3-5). We hope that all 3-5th grade parents will join us on April 10th for an informational session and an opportunity for you to write notes of encouragement to your child. On the 12th, we will have a STAAR pep rally for all 3-8 grade students to encourage them and let them know how much we believe in them.
Counselor Corner
During the 6th 6-Weeks, counselor lessons will focus on the concept of kindness. This time of year can be hard-- schedules are busy, bedtimes get pushed back, etc. Kids are tired & tried creates grumpy moods. We will take time during lessons to refocus and remember our manners & respect. When we take time to consider how we're treating others we often are rewarded with pleasant interactions. In a world where you can be anything, be kind!
