The Bulldog Bark
Week of November 9th
November at Galileo: Celebrating Success and Looking Ahead!
Since Fall Break, Galileo has been buzzing with excitement! Our students have enjoyed so many wonderful opportunities, including an exciting Girls Soccer season, an outstanding performance by the Colorado Springs Conservatory Drama Group, and our 1st Quarter Awards Assemblies, where we celebrated the hard work, growth, and achievements of so many Bulldogs. It has been inspiring to see students shining both inside and outside the classroom!
The excitement continues over the next two weeks with even more great events happening at Galileo. This week, we hope you'll join us for our Bulldogs Bread, Butter, and Bowl Family Fun Night. Families can enjoy a delicious meal together, connect with our school community, and even take home a soup bowl! More information about this event can be found below, and we would love to see you there.
We're also excited to celebrate our students' commitment to punctuality at the No-Tardies Ice Cream Party this Friday. Congratulations to the students who have made being on time a priority!
Meanwhile, our Girls Soccer team is just getting warmed up, and we encourage everyone to come out and cheer on the Bulldogs as they continue their season.
It's hard to believe we are already halfway through the second quarter! Now is the perfect time for students to check their grades, complete any missing assignments, and connect with teachers if they have questions or would benefit from extra help or tutoring. Staying on top of coursework now can make a big difference as we head toward the end of the semester.
As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for the opportunity to work with your children each day. Watching them learn, grow, and discover their strengths is one of the greatest rewards of our work. Thank you for sharing them with us and for your continued partnership and support. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be part of their educational journey.
Go Bulldogs! 🐾💙💛

Cracking Codes and Chasing Legends in GT
What do a locked box and a headless horseman have in common? They’re both part of the adventure in Gifted & Talented! In class, students have been cracking codes, connecting clues, and explaining their thinking as they tackle escape room challenges together. A field trip to CodeBusters Escape Room will extend the adventure beyond the classroom and allow the students to put their teamwork and skills to the test. Students will also journey to Mitchell High School this month to see The Legend of Sleepy Hollow come to life onstage.

🚔⭐ From Protecting Communities to Empowering Students, Meet Mr. Scott Warren!
Mr. Warren
We are excited to introduce Mr. Scott Warren, our fantastic new 6th Grade Special Education Provider at Galileo! This year, Mr. Warren has been enjoying getting to know the amazing students at Galileo and partnering with families to help every student find success. Students are often surprised to learn that before becoming a teacher, Mr. Warren served as a police officer for 13 years, bringing a wealth of life experience and a strong commitment to serving others. What inspires him most is the opportunity to make a positive impact by helping students build a strong foundation for high school and adulthood. Mr. Warren is passionate about supporting student growth and is dedicated to finding a way, somehow, to help every student become a little better today than they were yesterday. We are grateful to have Mr. Warren as part of the Galileo family! 🐾💙💛
🏒📚 From Hockey Stats to Book Chats: Meet Ms. Collins!
Ms. Collins
We are excited to introduce Ms. Zoe Collins, one of Galileo's paraprofessional extraordinaires! Ms. Collins has enjoyed meeting students throughout the building and learning something new every day. One fun fact that students love discovering is that if you show her a hockey player, she can likely tell you exactly who they are and what team they play for! She is also a big fan of classic cars, so be sure to stop by and chat with her about your favorites. This year, Ms. Collins is especially looking forward to reading and discussing books with students in ELA classes. What inspires her most about working with the students at Galileo is their kindness and authenticity, and she is passionate about helping every student achieve success. We are thrilled to have Ms. Collins as part of the Bulldog family and look forward to the positive impact she will continue to make throughout the year! 🐾💙💛
Booked on Learning: Meet Mrs. Chapman! 📚✨
Mrs. Chapman
Step into the library and you're sure to find Mrs. Chapman, Galileo's Library and Technology Educator, helping students discover new ideas, new skills, and new favorite books! Mrs. Chapman has especially enjoyed seeing how much students have grown during just the first quarter of the school year. One fun fact that students enjoy learning is that she is a Denver native. Throughout the year, one of Mrs. Chapman's favorite traditions is hosting exciting Book Tastings in the library, where students can sample different genres and authors to inspire a lifelong love of reading. What inspires Mrs. Chapman most about working with middle school students is their fun, quirky personalities and unique perspectives. As a lifelong learner herself, she loves being part of a school community that encourages curiosity, growth, and exploration every day. Galileo is fortunate to have Mrs. Chapman helping students write their next chapter of success! 🐾💙💛
Writing Confidence, One Story at a Time: Meet Mrs. Detert! ✏️📚
Mrs. Detert
We are excited to introduce Mrs. Erin Detert, Galileo's new Interventionist! Mrs. Detert is thrilled to share one of her greatest passions with students this year: writing. She loves helping students explore their ideas, strengthen their skills, and discover the power of their own voices. One fun fact students enjoy learning about Mrs. Detert is that middle school literature is her absolute favorite, and Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech tops her list as an all-time favorite book. What inspires Mrs. Detert most about working with middle school students is the opportunity to help them build confidence in themselves and their abilities. She believes every student has unique strengths to offer and is passionate about encouraging students to believe in themselves, take risks, and grow as learners. We are delighted to have Mrs. Detert as part of the Galileo family! 🐾💙💛
