May 2nd, 2024 May 2nd, 2024

We are in the final stretch of the school year and May is set to be a whirlwind of activity. Our school calendar is full of fun events including the Shrek theater performance, field trips, the science fair, concerts, picnics, 8th grade graduation, kindergarten continuation, field day, and the PTA Ninja Warrior party just to name a few. There's something for everyone and we hope you are planning to attend!

As we gear up for these events, we want to express our gratitude for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. Your participation in these events not only enhances your child's experience but also strengthens our school community as a whole.

We eagerly anticipate seeing you in the building during the last few weeks of this school year. Let's make May a month to remember!

Are you planning ahead? Check out our 2024-2025 academic calendar on our website. We recommend scheduling family vacations during our school breaks and extended weekends whenever possible.

This anonymous survey should only take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your insights are greatly valued and will be carefully reviewed by the School Accountability Committee (SAC). Girls Who Code

Over the course of the last five weeks the PCK Girls Who Code Club was busy coding in Scratch. They made four projects during our meetings: Unicorn Rush, Wheel of Fate, Scratch Cat Says, and Avoid the Asteroids.

Have your child check them out and encourage them to modify (remix) the existing projects.

The girls were also busy coding our friendly Dash robots. What better way to get excited about computer science than having a robot race!

Earth Day Fun

Thank you to all of our Earth Day presenters - CSU Extension, Parker Water, Water Ambassadors, Core Electric and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Each grade was exposed to different conservation efforts through the presenting partners, and students were able to engage in hands-on activities that reinforced the character trait of resourcefulness and conservation.

Science Fun

Spring has sprung in the Elementary Science lab and a lot of hands-on learning is happening! Chicks were hatched to support the Kindergarten unit on life cycles. The 5th graders are in the midst of experimenting with hydroponics supporting their unit on plants. Praying mantises are about to hatch, which is exciting for all of our students. Finally, 4th graders will be doing their cow eye dissection to support their units on light and the anatomy of the eye.

2024/2025 PCK and Way to Go Schoolpool Opt-Out Notification

Looking for help getting your student to/from school or after-school activities during the 2024/2025 school year? Parker Core Knowledge is pleased to partner with Schoolpool, a free program to make it easier to get to school and activities through carpooling. Even if you don't want a full time carpool, you can connect with other families that may have an occasional need. It's also a great way to meet nearby families who attend our school and get more connected to our school community.

Don’t miss your chance to preorder your kids’ school supplies for next year! Orders will be accepted until June 2nd. Our teachers hand-select the school supplies they want in each grade-specific box, so you know you are getting exactly what your student needs. Boxes are delivered to the school in time for the Open House in August, so you avoid the hassle of school supply shopping and bringing everything to the classroom. Plus, our PTA receives a donation based on the number of boxes ordered, and that money goes right into efforts that benefit our school. The more boxes we order, the higher the percentage of the proceeds we get back. It is a win-win for everyone! Click the School Tool Box button below to order today!
