We’re inviting parents and guardians of Lake County students to take a brief (under 10 minutes) confidential survey about perceptions related to youth and alcohol.

Please answer with your oldest student currently in grades 6–12 in mind.

Participation is voluntary, and you may skip any question.

Your input helps inform local efforts that support the health and safety of young people. Demographic questions are only used to understand the diversity of survey participants — no individual will be identified in any reports.

Tell your teen how you REALLY feel.

Make it clear that you don’t approve of drinking alcohol underage because it impairs judgment and affects brain development

We all know teens can be hard to follow sometimes. Don’t give up, however! Get to know your teen’s schedule, create memorable moments with them along the way, and talk to them about not using alcohol underage.

Having regular, open conversations with your teen about underage drinking can make a big difference.

Teens who know their parents disapprove of underage alcohol use are less likely to drink. Your voice matters! Be clear, honest, and supportive. Even quick conversations, like when they’re heading out the door, help build trust and reinforce your expectations. Use the tips on the back of this card to help you get started.
